I have strange issue with this app in MS Windows 10 after last days. I have installed standalone application and MS store app to, in both app I cant type text into message or sear field. This strange bug appear on standalone app before some week, now the same error is in MS store app too. This make this apps unusable
Same exact issue. I'm on Windows 11 latest. Started with the native app downloaded from messenger. com. It refuses ALL keyboard input in the app. I've tried everything. I uninstalled it and installed the Messenger app from the Microsoft Store and it was working fine for about a week, and now it is also not accepting any keyboard input.
Hope i was able to help. In bad case you have to do all the stuff, but i reccommend to first activate Tablet and Ink Support, if it maybe was deactivated by an update or one of the known "optimization tools",
maybe accidentaly by the user, because it tells you it is safe to deactivate. ( I also dit, SIGH! )
Hello! Yes i did many attempts to find the solution. It toome me almost 2-3 months. Other people just has read the last thing i did and made as his/her own solution. The Tablet and ink writing service seems to be the thing that needns to be acvive, even if you do not have a tablet pc.
Thanks!
Stopped working 6 months ago when they shoved the microsoft store version down our throats. The previous standalone was fine, but the MS store one relies on this service, apparently.
Oh, and, weirdly, you DO have to reboot, sadly. Tried without and did not work.
Take a look at the following website and follow steps there:
-us/account-billing/fix-problems-with-apps-from-microsoft-store-93ed0bcf-9c12-3df6-6dda-92ec5d0415ac
Run Windows Update and download and install all updates.
In the installer page of the application in the Microsoft Store , you shall see option to contact support and make sure report these issues.
You may open start and search for feedback and open the Feedback Hub app and report these issues.
I was in a recurring meeting a couple weeks ago and afterward people were chatting so I guess I clicked to leave the chat in order to not keep getting notified. This week I rejoined the meeting and can see the screenshare but I can't chat.
Yeah, I've had the same experience, and couldn't find any way to solve it (chat button doesn't help). Open a support case and report this, seems like a bug to me. I can report it directly, but since I'll be off for 10 days or so, I probably wont be able to follow up on it. Or we can just volunteer Chris :)
@Mike Boehm - I have the exact same issue. Left a monthly meeting last month due to the chat continuing after the meeting and distracting me. This month I cannot do anything with the chat because of this issue.
@Chris Webb I can rejoin the MEETING just fine. It's the chat that no longer accepts input nor does it update. The last post is from the month prior and in the field where I would type my message is, "You can't send messages because you are not a member of the chat."
@Chris Webb I can't know for sure but I'm 99% positive that someone in that meeting I had this morning used the chat. There were over 120 people in the meeting. I'd be shocked if no one used the chat because it's usually full of posts during each monthly meeting. That's why I had left the chat the month before. People wouldn't stop posting after the meeting end. Anyway, I've asked on our local teams site as well.
@Chris Webb I had same problem - turned off the chat on a recurring meeting a week ago because people kept chatting after the meeting was done and annoying me, then when I joined the meeting today, I couldn't chat. Drove me nuts, but after the meeting, I did what you did. Rejoined that meeting (even though it was past the scheduled time) and lo and behold, chat was there again. Why not there the first time I joined today, who knows, but seems like a bug as it's not consistent.
@Mike Boehm I have the issue. Unable to chat or see the chat while during the recurring meeting. I get the same behavior when joining the meeting from the Teams calendar as well as the original calendar invitation in Outlook.
I have this same message and found it related to the Teams preview feature allowing separate windows for chat and meetings.
I was able to solve this issue by double clicking on the calendar icon in the meeting header which opens a new window and allows for chat.
This morning, I logged into Facebook and started communicating with some friends over Messenger when every sentence I typed and then hit enter, only 1 letter appeared in the Messenger window. I tried it in multiple windows but the same thing happened.
I am having the same issue this morning. I logged into FB and tried to send via FB Messenger from my computer (using Internet Explorer) and only the first letter I'm typing in messages box is being sent. my whole sentence is reflected in the typed box, but after hitting send, only the first letter is being displayed in the chat window. I'm not having the same issue with my Messenger app on my cell phone.
(1) For Windows and Linux, the main menu offers ways of interacting with the browser. You can open new tabs or browser windows, zoom pages, or view Opera pages such as Speed Dial, news, bookmarks, downloads, history, or settings.
To pin the sidebar to Opera, click on the Easy setup button to the right of the combined address and search bar. Under Appearance click Show sidebar. Click the button again to unpin the sidebar. Unpinning the sidebar will make the sidebar only available from the start page.
To customize your sidebar, click the three-dot icon at the bottom of your sidebar. The Sidebar setup panel will open, allowing you to edit or remove elements on your sidebar, like Workspaces, Messengers, History, extensions, as well as other features and tools.
You can also access the sidebar settings from Settings > Sidebar. There you can select to pin the sidebar, enable a narrow sidebar, or enable messenger notification badges.
Opera can organize multiple pages into one browsing window using tabs, which are designed to resemble paper filing tabs. Tabs allow you to interact with many pages simultaneously without closing a page until you are ready.
The visual tab-cycler is a tab-preview popup that lets you cycle through thumbnails of your open tabs. Press and keep holding Ctrl, and then press Tab to bring up the tab-cycler. Click on Tab to cycle though your tabs. Release Ctrl to switch to the currently highlighted tab.
The Search in Tabs tool helps you find a specific open tab via keyword searching, which is quite useful when you have a lot of tabs open. Use Ctrl+Space to open the Search in Tabs tool. Type a keyword to narrow down your open tabs and find the one you want.
To close a tab, hover your mouse over the tab and click the x button. To close all tabs except your current tab, right-click (Ctrl+click on Mac) the current tab and select Close other tabs. You can also close all tabs to the right of your current tab with Close tabs to the right, and if you have multiple tabs with the same site, you can use Close duplicate tabs.
The page context menu appears when you right-click (Ctrl+click on Mac) a part of a web page where there are no links, images, or text. This menu provides you with navigation options (go back, forward or reload the page), options for saving the page as a Speed Dial entry or bookmark, viewing the source code of the page, saving the page as a PDF file, and more.
Full screen mode hides the menu bar from view but you can access it by hovering your mouse at the top of your screen. In full screen mode, the toolbar can be hidden or shown from the View menu.
Found words are highlighted in green as you search. If more than one instance of the word exists on the page, they will be highlighted in yellow and a count will appear in the search field. To navigate between instances, click the left and right arrows.
As Facebook is the most popular social media and communication app, many prefer the Messenger app to share files. Although sending and receiving photos using Messenger is very easy, sharing other file types isn't as convenient.
Although Messenger isn't made for sharing files, you can still send various files using Messenger. However, the process is not exactly convenient. In this article, we'll explore how to send files in Messenger using phone and also PC quickly and securely.
You can easily send PDF files in Messenger but there's a catch. You can use the Messenger app on your iOS, Android, and also on PC. Using Messenger on a PC, whether you are using the Messenger app or browsing Facebook from your browser has some advantages.
One of those advantages is that you can send so many different file types to other people, including PDFs. When using the Messenger app on pc, go to the chat and look for the plus (+) icon on the left side of the typing area. Click it then click 'Add Attachment(s)'. Now find the PDF file you want to send, select the file, click open and click send.
The catch is that the very same (+) icon is also available in iOS, but it doesn't let you select and send any file type you want. It only lets you select images and share locations on Messenger. On Android devices, there are four dots in the place of the plus icon that acts the same as the plus icon. To send PDF files, you have to use Messenger from a personal computer or a laptop.
However, this doesn't mean there is no way to share PDF files on Messenger. If you know how to send PDF file in messenger, you can easily figure out other methods. Although you can directly select the files using Messenger, you can share them using the app. Locate the file on your device, select the file and click share. Then select Messenger and send it to your friend. The 'Send' button is on the right side of the person's name.
