यथा नाऽम्भोभिरम्भोधिरिन्धनैर्न धनञ्जयः।
तथैव जीवास्तृप्यन्ति न सुखैर्विषयोद्भवैः॥

[यथा। न। अम्भोभिः। अम्भोधिः। इन्धनैः। न। धनञ्जयः।
तथा। एव। जीवाः। तृप्यन्ति। न। सुखैः। विषयोद्भवैः॥]

{yathā nā'mbhobhirambhodhirindhanairna dhanañjayaḥ.
tathaiva jīvastṛpyanti na sukhairviṣayodbhavaiḥ..
}

Just as the ocean is never satisfied with water and fire never with wood, likewise, the beasts never find contentment in the pleasures gained through materialistic means.
