UPDATE: in the video adapter settings of virtual manager for the machine, edit the XML to increase the RAM size from 16MB to 64MB vgamem='65536'. To enable XML editing, go to Preferences and enable it. Then reboot and 4K resolutions are available in windows.

Recently I came across a problem when attempting to install Windows 7 onto a Dell Precision 7710. I would boot up with a DVD that had an .iso image of Windows 7 installed on it, but when after clicking the install windows button, I would get a notice that the installer couldn't locate the CD/DVD driver and I needed to browse to locate it. Well, I thought I would be smart and instead do the install via a USB device. Same error. Well, how does this make sense? It's asking for a DVD driver when using a USB device. That's like your car throwing a CEL for the carburetor not working when you're using fuel injection.

But when i boot, I never get as far as to choose which windows version I want, before the message: Missing CD/DVD comes.
EXE problems with drivermax.exe most often stem from a corrupt or missing executable file, which often occur duing the startup of DriverMax. Downloading and replacing your EXE file can fix the problem in most cases. Moreover, as an overall cleanup and preventive measure, we recommend using a registry cleaner to cleanup any invalid file, EXE file extension, or registry key entries to prevent related error messages.
Placing the newly-downloaded drivermax.exe file in the right directory (where the original file resides) will most likely resolve the issue, but you should test to make sure. My basic set up is below. My new monitor is supposed to be 2560 x 1440 but only 1920 x 1080 shows in the Windows settings or the AMD Catalyst Control Centre settings. I've updated the drivers to what came with the monitor and so the monitor name shows in the windows settings, and all software updates have been installed. So, I'm out of ideas and it's driving me crazy.
@axar..............Just got a great deal @micro Center for a Samsung UR590C 32" curved max rated for 3840x2160. Thought my "great deal" @ 1/2 price was for nothing as my HDMI (tried a display port cable too) connected ATI Radeon 5700HD from 10+ years ago only showed resolution choices up to 1920x1080 in windows. Checked specs for the ATI and updated all drivers and still no joy and no advise from Micro tech chats.
