Yes - please feel free to create a branch for it.

I notice that you're working against version 1.2 on your branch. Now
that we are using the major.minor.patch numbering system for versions,
your operator will go into a 1.3.x release.

As far as the next new-features release (1.3) is concerned, I want it
to include the FractalFill operator, improvements to the Vectorize
operator and a new vector to raster utility (ported from GeoTools and
extended), plus your new operator. I'd like to do the release around
the end of next month but it depends on how much spare time I can
muster between now and then.
If this is too long a wait for you we could release a 1.3 milestone
and perhaps deploy it to OSGeo or somewhere for GeoTools use.
For the 1.2 branch there have only been tiny changes since 1.2.0 was
released so I'm not planning to do another 1.2.x release unless
something comes up.
cheers

We might want to do a 1.2.1 release with this new operator.
Ciao,
Simone.
You can't :) That's what I've been trying to say.
The major.minor.patch versioning means only patch releases on the 1.2 series.
Michael
That's okay, although this means that we will have to probably upgrade
geotools/geoserver as well or play with exclusions a little bit.
Daniele/andrea, opinions?
