wolfram alpha also uses FRED data so you could use that as an alternative to direct import but it is more tricky to get the query right. I prefer to use FRED directly. Also from memory the data is only available on alpha the day after the release, which is not what you would typically want.

- Fill out form using a @jmu.edu email, and click "Create Wolfram ID"
- Check your email and click the link to validate your Wolfram ID
- Request the download and key:
- Fill out this form to request an Activation Key
- Click the "Product Summary page" link to access your license
- Click "Get Downloads" and select "Download" next to your platform
- Run the installer on your machine, and enter Activation Key at prompt

To put it simply, I expect that I can provide longitude altitude coordinates for points A and B to Graphhooper (or other software that works with OSM) and return back the distance between these points to wolfram.
