The J Bay Residents Association must elect a new committee this coming Wednesday, 20th February (at 6pm at the Newton Hall).

Here is a short list of the issues this new committee will have to deal with. Please feel free to add any other issues you think important.

  1. Water quality in Wavecrest
  2. Sewerage leaks on Main Beach, at the treatment works, during storms, below Ocean View.
  3. Potholes, everywhere
  4. Emergency management and response
  5. Size of Kouga Municipality (KM) salaries and wages bill
  6. Inadequate KM budget for maintenance
  7. Poor financial status of KM
  8. Various reports of mismanagement, wasteful expenditure and corruption by the KM
  9. Thyspunt, wind farms
  10. Poorly planned township developments
It will require serious, committed people to deal with these many, serious problems. Who is willing to stand and be counted?

11. Proposed relocation of library and expending resources on a new council chamber in Jeffrey's Bay despite suggestions that Kouga could be redemarcated before the next local elections

12. Continued lack of a high school despite promises and the fact that there are limited and costly transport options for residents of Ocean View, Tokyo Sexwale and Pellsrus.

I know you are not Paradise Beach but please see if you can look into the closing of the Causeway.
