Our municipalities are doing such a good job already, how could this possibly fail?

I had a brief look at the act last week but have honestly not had a chance to interogate the Bill adequately to write anything about it. In my personal capacity I most certainly will be making submissions which will probably be incredibly brief and targeted exclusively on the inherent contradiction of the legislation and its unsuitability to existing incorporation legislation (pushed by the same DoTI in 2008) however it is not the first item on my to do list by a long shot.

From a Jbay perspective the Bill would be deadly for Jbay and if moved close to enactment it would be necessary for the JBRA together with FEKRRA to seek mitigation measures to prevent this office from resembling town planning and just about everything else at Kouga.

From a South Africa perspective the Act is part of an agenda of centralizing power and undermining individual freedom it is likely to lead to public violence - consider that it was enforcing a law almost identical to this one which triggered the Arab Spring - and is in my view (and no doubt the view of many others) a wholly unconstitutional infringement on economic freedom and an absolute undermining of property rights.

Hi Paul

I have not had time to study it - I am concerned that you are concerned about its implications for our town and especially the Kouga Region . This tells me that it is not as " transparent " or in our interests as it may seem , especially at a National level .

In the light of your last paragraph , I feel an even more ever impending need for organizations such as JBRA and especially FEKRRA to become stronger and more affiliated with each other in order to ensure our rights , yet an almost obvious ignorance ( or more accurately - a sense of tired and exhausted hope of a proper civic or governmental re conciliation / management )  of its immediate urgent importance .

Kind regards

From

Garth
