Hi ,I have sent an email to Andrew Lucas requesting the report and sample results and recommendations of the visit by Dr Steynberg requested by the RRU Rapid Response Unit .I was present with the site visit and supplied the DWA with various samples of the drinking water supplied to Wavecrest .I will supply the jbra with any information that I receive . Some of the observations made during the visit are the following : 1) Housekeeping at the plant is poor . 2) Only 3 of the 5 pressure filters were operational . 3) The lime feeder does not operate continuously and the feed pipe is an open gutter pipe . 4) The required time for contact with the chlorine gas and lime precipitation is well below the the required 10 minutes . 5) The plant runs unattended for +- 16 hrs. every day and with little or zero attention over weekends .I have also found out that the following Health Implications : Manganese ( Mn ) :Concentrations higher than 0.5 mg/L may with added other daily resources of Mn cause nervous system disorders that resembles Parkinsonism .Young children take up more Mn than adults and old people .Babies on special diets with high Mn content will be affected if the water contains Mn concentrations above 0.5 mg/L which I am sure the Wavecrest Borehole water does contain .One will only know if the sample results become known .

I feel you must contact Andrew Lucas in this regard in East London. You can nominate someone from your residents association and ask for a PAIA form to apply to acquire the info for the residents association, but Andrew Lucas will give you clear info and steps

Goeie dag,
In u e-pos gedateer 3 Desember 2012 waarin die JBRA "The real STATE of the muncipality" aanspreek, word daar onder andere oor die watertoestand in Wavecrest verslag gedoen. Daar word ook melding gemaak van 'n verslag wat deur die Department of Water Affairs (DWAF)oor die waterprobleem opgestel sou word. Ons as Trustee van Die Heide stel intens belang in die verslag, want ons oorweeg dit ernstig om ons eie watersuiweringstelsel (ekstra bo en behalwe die munispaliteit s'n) te installeer. Kan u my asseblief inlig of die verslag beskikbaar is en indien wel, waar is dit bekombaar.
