On Monday, we started our Jones Jaguar Journeys donation drive. Again, this year we are asking for donations instead of having the students sell items. The following letter was sent home on Monday with the students. In addition, I have attached the donation drive packet & receipt. Please consider making a donation this year.
Jaguar Journeys - Jones PTA Donation Drive - September 1 – 26, 2009
Dear Jones Elementary Families:
This year, our Jaguar Journeys Drive is slightly different. We are asking for donations to Jaguar Journeys, our PTA donation fund that will support a wide range of important programs throughout the school year.
This approach has many advantages:
- It is simple. We are asking for donations one time to support the entire year.
- There is no selling and delivering. Donors don’t need to “find” something to buy. They are choosing how much to donate directly to the school.
- It benefits the school more. 100% of all donations fund and support PTA approved projects and programs.
- It is tax-deductible. All donations can be deducted by people supporting our school.
All donations will be used to support the JONES PTA operating budget. All children at Jones will benefit from this fundraiser, and the more donations we can generate, the more opportunities we can have to promote learning at Jones. 100% of donations go to support those opportunities. We are all aware that as the school continues to grow and as state, county, and local monies are harder to come by, we need more money to provide the best learning environment we can for our children.
Our Goals
- We would like each student to collect a minimum of $50 in donations. Students can accomplish this in any way they would like. $50 from one donor. $5 from ten donors. Please encourage parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and neighbors to participate.
- We encourage you to collect as much in donations as you can. The more money we collect for the school, the more PTA is able to do for our students and staff.
- Remember to ask sponsors if their employer will match their donations. Many companies will do so, and your sponsor can take care of collecting the employer’s matching donation for you.
- Remember to provide each sponsor with a RECEIPT (available online at the Jones Web Site) Remind sponsors that their DONATIONS TO JONES PTA are TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Make as many copies of the tax donation receipts as you need. Copies of this information packet and the tax donation receipts are provided on the Jones web site under JAGUAR JOURNEYS.
- Turn in all collections in the envelope provided by Friday, September 26.
Jaguar Journeys Prize Incentive List
Participant Level
All students collecting $10 or more will receive a Jones Elementary Bag Tag.
Special Recognition Level
All students and staff members collecting $50 or more will receive a special edition t-shirt. You will also be eligible to win one of many prize drawings. NOTE: Our prize drawings will begin the second week of the campaign, so go ahead and turn in your donations so you can be included in each drawing!
