HELLO EVERYONE!
HERE IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR THE SCHOOL TO MAKE MONEY WHILE YOU FOOD SHOP THROUGH BOXTOPS!!!!

Bonus Boxtops Program at Area Food Lions
Purchase the required amounts of the required participating Boxtops Items and receive bonus boxtops from the coupon printer at the check out counter.

October - Get 20 Bonus Boxtops (=$2) for purchasing 5 of the following items in one visit:  Betty Crocker Fruit by the Foot, Fruit by the Foot Crazy Feet, Fruit by the Foot Mini Feet, Fruit Gushers, Fruit Roll-ups, Fruit Roll-ups Crazy Pix, Fruit Roll-ups Fruit Stickerz, Fruit Roll-ups Mini Rolls,  Fruit Shapes, Sunkist Fruit Shapes, Chex Mix, Chex 100 Calories, Chex Mix Select, Simply Chex, Chex Mix Bars.

November - Get 170 Bouns Boxtops(=$17) for purchasing 20 of the following items in one visit:
Betty Crocker Hamburger Helper, Hanburger Helper Microwave Singles, Chicken Helper, Tuna Helper, Green Giant Boil-in-a-bag, Immunity Boost Vegetables, Niblets Corn-on-the- cob, SIMPLY STEAM Seasoned Vegetables, Vegetables in Special Sauces, Complete Skillet Meal, Valley Fresh Steamers.

Tips for getting your bonus Boxtops:
*Save up your coupons for the Bonus Boxtops Items. This is especially helpful when purchasing 20 items. Look for items on the list on sale and you have a coupon for.
* Tell the cashier what you are doing before you check out
* Ask if the coupon printer is working at this register
*Count and recount to make sure you have the correct number of items
*Make sure your items are on the list
*Avoid items with special prices written on the front of the box, they sometimes have special SKUs that are not included.
  • If you have done all these things and the boxtops coupon still does not print, ask to speak to the manager and they will help you.  I have found all the Food Lion Staff to be very helpful at my Food Lion.

Hello Jones Families,
Please don’t forget that the
Jones Elementary Silent Auction/Karaoke night is November 19 from 5:30 - 7:30 pm.  We have attached the flyers that went home a couple of weeks ago.  If your child wants to sing, please fill out the karaoke form and send it in to his/her teacher as soon as possible. Children can sing alone, in duets or in groups.  Your family can sing together!  There are limited spaces and we are taking singers first come, first served.  The spots are almost full.  THERE WILL BE NO SLOTS AVAILABLE THAT NIGHT.
If singing is not your thing, please come to cheer on the singers (including some favorite teachers and members of the administration) and check out the silent auction.  We already have a lot of exciting items, but we can always use more!  Please review the ideas on the silent auction flyer.  There is a labeled box in the office to receive your items.  Most importantly, be sure to bring the entire family and your friends to this fun, family night at Jones.  Dinner will be available for purchase and there will be a fabulous bake sale with items from local bakers.  Thank you for your help and your support of the PTA!  Jackie Connors (aus...@yahoo.com) and Michelle Felt (mlw_...@hotmail.com)

Science Boards will also be sold at the silent auction for $3.00.  We have several colors, it is while supplies last, first come, first serve.

We look forward to seeing you at the
December 15th PTA meeting in the Jones Cafeteria. In addition to our annual December concert led by Ms. Gaffney of the 2nd graders, and pizza being offered, the PTA will sponsor a recipe exchange. We hope that you will share your best baked goods recipes and get to know others in our PTA community. Look for more information closer to the date!  Also, please bring in used books, CD’s and DVD’s to donate towards our Literacy and Entertainment Fair which will be in February.

Don’t forget to use www.goodsearch.com and www.goodshop.com for all your holiday present searches and holiday purchchases!!

Have a great end to your week!
Thank you,
Michele Alvarino

Hello Everyone,

In addition to www.goodshop.com Jones has joined another new program that helps our PTA.  All you have to do is go to furtal.com <http://furtal.com/> and search for our school and then shop at our site, we get cash back from everything you buy.  It's that easy.  It does not cost you a thing. (If this link does not work for you copy www.goodshop.com or www.furtal.com and  paste it into your browser.)

I know you are about to do your holiday shopping so please try to do it here.

Plus, forward this email to your friends and family and everything they buy through one of these websites, contributes money to our PTA!

Thanks,

Michele

Come to the official ribbon cutting for the first segment of the Downtown Greenway on Wednesday (March 24) at 4:00pm.  In fact, come at 3:30pm and watch the Arbor Day Tree Planting, also on the greenway--we're told the tree is a mighty oak of which we'll all be proud.  Expect flags, banners, tents, a drumline and dance team, fire department and police department bike teams and Segways, a unicyclist, pedicab rides (Sue Dragon You).  And that's just at the ribbon cutting!

At 5:00pm the group moves across Eugene Street to South Elm for a reception (great food, no charge) at the mill at 816 South Elm Street, formerly known as the North State Milling Company and recently refurbished by Eric Robert for office and residential spaces.  The mill is now quite stylish and not to be missed.

At 5:30pm there will be an update on Phase 2 of the Greenway, a discussion of the Greenway's economic development potential, and some perspective from Sig Hutchinson, a Raleigh resident responsible for the creation of hundreds of miles of greenways in the Triangle region of North Carolina.

Because seats are limited, please let us know that you plan to attend at www.downtowngreenway.org or 336-379-0821.  Thanks!

Part of the Greenway runs through the Warnersville community, which of course, is the neighborhood that surrounds Jones.
