Dear Parents,

Below is some information on the City of Greensboro's supervised summer playground program, which runs June 22 through August 7.

Each summer, the Neighborhood Playground program

gives boys and girls, ages 6-15, an opportunity

to participate in supervised activities on their local

playgrounds. This program is offered free of charge.

This summer’s playground locations are as follows:

Ardmore, Arlington, Carriage Hills, Douglas, Eastside, Gant/Woodmere,

Hampton, Kirkwood, Hannaford, Sussman, Steelman, Tuscaloosa, Westbury

and Henry. Playgrounds will open June 22nd-August 7th, Mon. -

Thurs. 9-5pm & Fridays 9-3pm. For more info please call 373-2611.

My children have enjoyed the program.  Once you register your child, you can drop him or her off during the hours the program operates.  You need to sunscreen your child and send a water bottle.  The playground staff bring games and crafts.

This program was on the City of Greensboro's chopping block during budget deliberations and may be eliminated in the future if it is not utilized more.  It's a great chance for children to have some free time to play outdoors and yet be supervised.  Please spread the word to friends and neighbors.
