GHS is NOT planning on having an awards day for their 9, 10, 11 graders. They will be given their certificates in their homerooms. The reason given to me by the front office was that parents did not attend. Last year, when they moved it to the evening, it was sparsely attended but we were told they would revisit having it during the day when it was very well attended.
If you believe the students deserve some recognition for their hard work, please contact Mr. Moody (moo...@gcsnc.com)and/or Dr. Watlington (wat...@gcsnc.com) to voice your opinion. Perhaps we can make a difference.
And please pass the word on to GHS parents!! I CANNOT believe they have made no formal announcement about this decision, it certainly was not in the leadership notes.
