Dear Jones friends,
Some of you are aware that Mary Joe had surgery recently to remove a large part of her lung.She has melanoma. She will be going to Chapel Hill on Thursday to discuss a treatment plan with her doctors.
She has received some lovely cards from former students and parents and was very appreciative of those. Please continue to write her, if you are so inclined, and remember her in your prayers.
Several people have asked me about other needs. Mary Joe is a voracious reader, so a gift card to Barnes and Noble might be a good choice. I am sure that restaurant gift cards will be appreciated also, as she will be spending a great deal of time on the road.
