As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,

Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad  al-Sādiq (alayhi salām) said:

“Nuh (alayhi salām)  boarded his ark on the first of Rajab and ordered his companions to fast on that day. He said that Hell goes away to a distance of one year from one who fasts on this day. One who fasts for seven days all the seven doors of Hell would be closed for him. One who fasts for eight days all eight doors of Paradise would be opened for him. One who fasts for fifteen days would have his problems solved. One who fasts for more than this Allāh, the Mighty and Sublime would grant him a greater reward.”.

“When a Muslim picks up his first morsel of food and recites: 

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

 (Bismillah Arrahman Arraheem)

Allāh forgives his sins even before the morsel reaches his mouth.

Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad  al-Sādiq (alayhi salām) said:

“Allāh revealed onto Prophet Dawood, ‘O Dawood! If a believer commits sins and repents for it and feels ashamed in front of Me while repenting I forgive him. I will make the angel forget this sin and convert this sin into a good deed. I do not care (it is not difficult for me) for I am the Most Merciful’.”

“Do not be misled by their prayers or fasting. A man may develop an attachment to prayer or fasting so much so that without it he may feel frightened but try them how truthful they are in their words or how reliable they are in returning the trust."

“One who trims all his nails except one on Thursday and trims the remaining one on Friday, Allāh (subhanahu wa ta’ala) would remove his poverty.”

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā  (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam)  said:

"Whoever passes by a graveyard and recites Surah Tauheed 11 times and gifts the reward to the deceased, then he will be rewarded good deeds equal to the people buried in that graveyard."

Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad  al-Sādiq (alayhi salām) said:

“A believer should have eight qualities. He is dignified in turbulent times. He is patient in afflicting conditions. He is thankful in prosperous life. He is content with what Allāh has granted him. He does not do injustice to the enemies. He does not overburden friends. His own body is tired due to his efforts and people are comfortable with him. Knowledge is a friend of the believer, forbearance is his secretary, reason is the commander-in-chief of his army, kindness is his brother and virtuous deed is his father.”

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,

A person came to Holy Prophet Muhammad  (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam)  and complained to him about poverty.

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā  (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam)  said:

"When you enter your house say Salam to anyone who is there and if no one is there then say salam to yourself. Thereafter recite Surah Tauheed once. ".

This person did exactly as he was told and Allāh granted him with so much sustenance that he was able to benefit his neighbours as well

On the day of judgement, Hazrat Abu Talib (alayhi salām) will come as a king and with a face like a prophet.

  Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Sādiq (alayhi salām) said:

"While Imām ‘Ali (alayhi salām) was sitting with Ruhbah in Kufa, surrounded by a group, a man stood up and said: ‘ Commander of the Believers, you are in this great position at which Allāh has placed you while your father is suffering in hell.

 ‘ The Imām replied, saying: Be silent. May Allāh disfigure your mouth. By the One Who sent Muhammad (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) with the truth, if my father intercedes for every sinner on the face of the earth, Allāh would accept his intercession."

“Whenever the time of Salaat starts, an angel calls out to the people, ‘O people, stand up! Extinguish the fire, which you have lighted on your backs with the help of Salaat.”

“If you are unable to spend in the way of Allāh, and are unable to wake up during the nights to worship, then do not be stingy in the recitation of Tasbihat-e-Arba'a".

سُبْحَانَ اللهِ، والحَمْدُ للهِ، وَ لاَ إِلَهَ إلاَّ اللهُ واللهُ أَكْبَرُ

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā  (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) said:

“Every righteous child who casts a look of mercy and affection upon his parents shall be granted, for every look of his, rewards equivalent to that of an accepted Hajj.” Those around the Prophet questioned: “O’ Prophet of  Allāh! Even if he were to look at them a hundred times a day?” The Messenger of Allāh (peace be upon him and his family) replied: “Indeed! Allāh is the Greatest and Most Kind.”

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā  (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) said:

"He who helps a Muslim believer (in his troubles), Allāh, Almighty and Glorious, will remove from him seventy-three agonies, one of which is in this world and seventy-two other agonies at the time of Great Agony, when people are busy with themselves (in Hereafter)."

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā  (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) said:

 An obligatory prayer, with Allāh, is equivalent to one thousand Hajj pilgrimages and one thousand Umrah performances (voluntary pilgrimages to Ka'ba) which are right and accepted."

“If a believer does good Allāh multiplies each of his deed seven hundred times and it is in accordance with the saying of  Allāh: ‘and Allāh  multiplies for whom He pleases’.” (Surah Baqarah 2:261)

‘Those who work without knowledge destroy more than they gain.’”

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā  (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) said:

 ‘The best time to pray to Allāh, the Most Majestic, the Most Holy, is the last part of the night’ and he read this verse that quotes Ya’qub (alayhi salām) , peace be upon him, ‘I shall ask my Lord to forgive you; He is All-Forgiving and All-Merciful.’ (12:98) He said that he  (Ya’qub (alayhi salām) ) waited until the last part of the night (Sahar), then he prayed.’”

Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad  al-Sādiq (alayhi salām) said:

“ Should I teach you a thing through which Allāh, the Blessed, the High will protect your face from the heat of the hell? The narrator replied in affirmative. He (alayhi salām) said:

 Recite  اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَجِّلْ فَرَجَهُمْ  hundred times after the morning prayers. By doing so, Allāh, the High will protect your face from the heat of the hell.

“No action is superior on Friday except reciting salawaat on Mohammad  (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) and his progeny".

“Get closer to your heart, and talk to it. Consider your deeds as your father whom you follow. And consider your own self as an enemy with whom you are at war. Consider your wealth as a loan you have to return.”.

1. Congregational prayer.

2. Companionship with scholars.

3. Establishing peace between two persons.

4. Honouring the orphans.

5. Visiting the sick.

6. Attending a funeral procession.

7. Giving of water to Pilgrims.

Then, be desirous of these things."

Narrator asked Imam Sadiq  (alayhi salām) – Is there an Eid for the Muslims other than the Day of Friday and al-Azha and al-Fitr?

Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad  al-Sādiq (alayhi salām) said:

 Yes, an Eid that is greater than both al-Azha and al-Fitr.

(Narrator) I asked – And which Eid is it, may I be sacrificed over you.

He (alayhi salām) informed – The day on which the Holy Prophet (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) appointed Ameerul Momineen (alayhi salām) when he said : Of whomsoever I am the Master, Ali is his Master.

Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad  al-Sādiq (alayhi salām) said:

The Prophet (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) was raised to the heavens on 120 occasions and on every occasion Allah (subhanahu wa ta’ala) advised the Prophet (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) about (conveying) the Mastership of Ali (alayhi salām) and the Imams (alayhi salām) after him, much more than He advised regarding (conveying) the obligatory actions (of the Shariah).

“It is advisable for you (on the day of Ghadir) to become close to Allāh, the Most High, through good deeds, fasting, prayers, establishing (and maintaining) family ties and establishing ties between (your) brothers.  The Prophets (peace be upon all of them) did the same thing when they appointed their successors, and also advised them to act similarly.”

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā  (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) said,

 in his address on the Day of Ghadir:

“'Ali is the exegesis (Tafsir) of the book of Allah and the one who calls others to it.  Verily, that which is permitted and forbidden is more than what I can explain to you; what I command you as permitted and forbid you as prohibited, is all from one position.  I was commanded to take your allegiance and your pledge to accept what I brought from Allah, the Exalted, regarding 'Ali, the commander of the believers, and the Imams after him.  O’ People!  Ponder and understand the verses (of the Qur'an), observe those that are clear and do not follow those that are unclear; for by Allah no one can explain to you its limitations or clarify its meanings except the one whose hand I am holding (meaning Imam 'Ali).”

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,

Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad  al-Sādiq (alayhi salām) said:

 On Judgment Day, an announcer will announce, “Where are the Shia of Aale Muhammad (alayhemus salam)?”

A group of people whose number cannot be counted except by the Almighty Allah, will stand up and separate from the people. 

Then an announcer will announce, “Where are the visitors of the grave of  Imām Husain (alayhi salām)?”

A large group of people will stand up. They will be told, “Take the hand of whoever you like and take him to Paradise with you.” They will take whoever they like to Paradise to such an extent that a person will say to one of them, “O so and so! Don’t you remember me? I stood up for you once as a mark of respect.”

So the visitor will take him to Paradise without being stopped.

One who goes for the Ziyarat of  Imām Husain (alayhi salām) and performs Wudhu and Ghusl with Euphrates water does not raise his foot or places it down without Allāh recording a Hajj and an Umrah for him.

“Nuh (alayhi salām)  boarded his ark on the first of Rajab and ordered his companions to fast on that day. He said that Hell goes away to a distance of one year from one who fasts on this day. One who fasts for seven days all the seven doors of Hell would be closed for him. One who fasts for eight days all eight doors of Paradise would be opened for him. One who fasts for fifteen days would have his problems solved. One who fasts for more than this Allāh, the Mighty and Sublime would grant him a greater reward.”.

“One who fast in the month of Rajab, for a day in its starting  or in its middle or in its last (days), Allāh (subhanahu wa ta’ala) will make incumbent upon him the Heaven, and He will keep him with us in our stages on the day of Resurrection, and one who fast two days in the month of Rajab, it will be said to him, start doing action from the start as your sins of past have been forgiven, and one who fast for the three days from the month of Rajab, it will be said to him that all your past sins have been forgiven and those which to remain, so do intercession of whom you wish to from the sinful once among your brothers and to whom you know, and one who fast for the seven days in the month of Rajab, the seven door of hell will closed for him, and one who fast for the eight days in the month of Rajab, then seven door of heaven will be open for him, so he can enter into it from which door he wishes."

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā  (صَلَّى ٱللَّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ‎)  said:

Those who want to live and die like me and enter Paradise, and hold on to the tree that the Almighty Allah has Himself planted, should love Ali  (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) and the successors after him and accept their merits. Because they are the favorite guides of Allah. He has given them my knowledge and understanding. And they are my Ahle Bayt (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) from my flesh and blood. I will complain to Allah about their enemies from my Ummah, about those who deny their merits, and about those who cut off relations by oppressing them. By Allah they will slay my son. May Allah deprive them of my intercession.

Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad  al-Sādiq (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) said:

"There is no one but that on Judgment Day he will wish to be among the visitors of Imām Husain  (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) , because they will see the way in which the visitor of Imām Husain (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام)  is honored and treated by the Almighty Allāh".

"There is no prophet in the heavens or earth who does not ask Allāh’s permission to perform the Ziyarat of Imām Husain  (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام). Thus a crowd descends to perform the Ziyarat of Imām Husain (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) and a crowd ascends back to the heavens".

There is no angel in the heavens or earth who does not beg Allāh for permission to go to the Ziyarat of the grave of Imām Husain (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام). There is always a multitude descending (at Kerbala) and a crowd ascending (back to heavens). ".

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,

Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad  al-Sādiq (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) said:

There are four thousand angels by the grave of Imam Husain (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام), disheveled and covered with dust. They will cry over him until Judgment Day. Their chief is an angel named Mansur. These angels welcome all who come to the Ziyarat of Imam Husain (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) and accompany them when they bid farewell to Imam Husain (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام), visit them if they become ill and pray for them at their funerals when they die and seek forgiveness for them after their death.".

Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad  al-Sādiq (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) said:

“On Judgment Day, visitors of Imām Husain (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) will be given an excellence over others.”

I asked, “What is it?”

Imām (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) replied, “They will enter Paradise forty years before others; whereas others have to wait in the accounting process.” ".
