As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,


Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Sādiq (alayhi salām) said:

“Fasting on the Day of Ghadir is equivalent to fasting the time span of the (existence of the) entire world – meaning that if a person were to live a life of the entire existence of the world and were to fast this whole time, the reward for this fasting would be equivalent to fasting (this one day of Ghadir).”

Please do pray for earliest restoration of Jannat al-Baqi; protection of Mausoleum of Holy Imams (a.s.) in Iraq,  Mausoleum of  Sayyidah Zaynab bint ‘Alī ibn Abī Tālib (a.s.) and Sayyidah Ruqayyah/Sakina bint Hussain (a.s.)  & early re-appearance of Imam-E-Zamana (atfs).

Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Sādiq (alayhi salām) said:

“Fasting on the Day of Ghadir is equivalent to fasting the time span of the (existence of the) entire world – meaning that if a person were to live a life of the entire existence of the world and were to fast this whole time, the reward for this fasting would be equivalent to fasting (this one day of Ghadir).”

Imām Alī ibn Mūsā al-Rezā (alayhi salām) said:

“With the advent of the month of Muharram, my father Imām Kadhim (alayhi salām) would never be seen laughing; gloom and sadness would overcome him for (the first) ten days of the month; and when the tenth day of the month would dawn, it would be a day of tragedy, grief and weeping for him.”

 If you desire that for you be the reward equivalent to that of those martyred along with Husayn (alayhi salām),  then whenever you remember him say: ' Oh! Would that I had been with them! A great achievement would I have achieved'.

 يَا لَيْتَنِي كُنْتُ مَعَهُمْ فَأَفُوزَ فَوْزاً عَظِيماً

Ya Laytani Kunto Ma'hum Fa Afuza Fawzan Azeema

(to Reyyan Ibn Shabib):

"O' Son of Shabib! If you have to cry over something, then do so over Husain Ibn 'Ali (alayhi salām) for surely, he was slaughtered in the manner in which a ram is slaughtered".

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,

Dawood Raqqi says that once I was in the presence of Imām al-Sādiq (alayhi salām) when he (alayhi salām) asked for water to drink. When he drank it, grief overtook him and his eyes became full of tears. Then,


Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Sādiq (alayhi salām) said:

“O Dawood! May Allāh’s curse be upon the murderers of Imām Husayn (alayhi salām). There is no servant (of Allāh) who drinks water and remembers Husayn and curses his enemies, except that Allāh writes one lac (100,000) virtues in his record, and forgives one lac sins of his, and elevates his position one lac times. It is as if he has freed one lac slaves, and on the day of Qiyamah he shall arise satiated.”

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,

Abi Ammarah (the eulogizer, Nawha recitor) that he says that, Imām Sādiq (alayhi salām) told me, “Recite some couplets in praise of  Imām Husayn (alayhi salām).
I recited the couplets and Imām started weeping. Again I recited some more and he wept. I continued my recital and  Imām wept each time until his entire Household started lamenting. Then


Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad al-Sādiq (alayhi salām) said:

“O Abu Ammarah! A person who recites couplets for Imām Husayn (alayhi salām) and makes fifty people weep, his reward is Paradise. And a person who recites couplets for Imām Husayn (alayhi salām) and makes thirty people weep, his reward is Paradise. And a person who recites couplets and makes twenty people weep, his reward is Paradise. And a person who recites couplets for Imām Husayn (alayhi salām) and makes ten people weep, his reward is Paradise. While a person who recites couplets for Imām  Husayn (alayhi salām) and makes one person weep, his reward is Paradise. While a person who recites couplets for  Imām Husayn (alayhi salām), and himself weeps, his reward is Paradise. And whoever recites a couplet for Imam and himself is aggrieved, his reward is Paradise.”

 “The worth of (good) actions performed on this day (18th of Dhul Hijjah) is equivalent to 80 months (of good deeds) and one is advised to frequently remember Allah, the Noble and Grand, and send prayers upon the Prophet (blessings of Allah be upon him and his family) and that a man be generous to his family (by presenting them with gifts).”

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,

Imām Muhammad  ibn ‘Alī al-Baqir  (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام) said:  

‘Abu Abdillãh al-Jadalī came into  Amir al-Mu'minin Imām ‘Alī ibn Abī Tālib (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام). He said: “O Abu Abdillãh! Look, shall I tell you about the words of Allãh, to Whom belong Might and Majesty: whosoever comes with a good deed, he shall have better than it, and they shall be secure from terror that day. And whosoever comes with an evil deed, their faces shall be thrust into the Fire: Are you recom­pensed but for what you did? (an-Naml, 27:89-90).”
He said: “Yes, O’  Amir al-Mu'minin (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام)! May I be made your ransom!”
“Good deed –knowing our mastership (wilãyah) and loving us, the Ahlu ‘l-bayt; and evil deed – the denial of our mastership and hatred for us, the Ahlu ‘l-bayt.” Then he repeated this verse for him.’ .
