Bismillah Arrahman Arraheem

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,

 

 Imām Ja'far ibn Muhammad  al-Sādiq (alayhi salām) said

The one who gets iftar done for a Momin this action of his will be compensation for his sins for the next one year and if he gets iftar done for two, its incumbent on Allāh to place him in Paradise.

Dua for First Day of Ramzan al-Mubarak

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ

Allahumma aj al siyamy fihi siyama alssaimina, wa qiyamy fihi qiyama alqa’imina, wa nabbihny fihi’an nawmati alghafilina, wa hab li jurmy fihi ya ilaha al alamina, wa fu anni ya afiyan ani almujrimina

O Allah, on this day make my fasts the fasts of those who fast (sincerely), and my standing up in prayer of those who stand up in prayer (obediently), awaken me in it from the sleep of the heedless, and forgive me my sins , O God of the worlds, and forgive me, O one who forgives the sinners.

 Imām Alī ibn Mūsā al-Reza (alayhi salām) said:

"Good deeds are accepted in the month of Ramadan and the sins are forgiven. One who recites one verse of the Book of Allāh, in the month of Ramadan will get the reward of reciting a whole Qur’an in other months.

One who makes his believer brother smiles in this month, he would not be met except with a smile and given the good news of Paradise on Judgment Day. One who helps his believer brother in this month, will be helped by the Almighty when passing over the Sirat Bridge, on the day when his feet would be shaking.

For one who controls his anger on this month, the Almighty Allāh will keep away His anger. If a person helps an oppressed soul, Allāh will help him against one who is inimical to him in this world, and will also help him at the time of the accounting of deeds.

The month of Ramadan is a month of mercy and blessings. It is month of forgiveness and return [to the court of  Allāh]; and one who is not forgiven in the month of Ramadan, then in which month would he be forgiven?! Thus, beg the Almighty Allah to accept your fasting and that He may not make it your last time. And that He should give you the good sense of obeying Him and protect you from His disobedience, as He is the best of those who are asked".

The rites of the first day of Ramadan are as follows:
First: It is recommended to bathe oneself in flowing water and to pour on the head thirty handfuls of water, for such a deed brings about security against all pains and ailments up to the next year.

Second: It is recommended to wash one’s face with a handful of rose water so as to be saved against humiliation and poverty, and to pour some of it on the head so as to be saved from pleurisy.

Third: It is recommended to offer the prayer of the first of the month that consists of two units and to give alms after that.
 

Fourth: It is recommended to offer a two-unit prayer at the first of which Surah al-Faatehah and Surah al-Fath (No. 48) should be recited and at the second, Surah al-Faatehah and any other Surah. If one
offers this prayer, Almighty Allah will save him from all evils and will keep him under His custody up to the next year.
