Fasts for First 3 Days of Sha’ban

Bismillah Arrahman Arraheem

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) said:

"Whoever fasts on the first three days of Sha’ban, and wakes up at nights and says two units of prayers and in each unit he recites the Opening Chapter once and ‘Surah Tawheed’ eleven times, Allāh the Sublime would fend off the evils of the people of the heavens and the earth, the evils of Satan and his troops, and the evils of all oppressive kings from him. I swear by Him who rightfully appointed me to the Prophethood that Allāh would forgive seventy-thousand major sins that are between him and God the Honorable the Exalted, and would fend off the torture of the grave, the departure of the soul from the body, and its hardships."

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) said:

‘Allah, Mighty and Exalted says, ‘I will cut off the expectation of every believer who places it in someone other than Me [and replace it] with despair."

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) said:

 ‘Allah, Mighty and Exalted, said to Musa (alayhi salām) son of Amran (alayhi salām), ‘Verily the jealous is discontented with My bounties, and wards off the shares I have apportioned to My servants.’

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) said:

‘When the records are spread out and the scales set up, there will be no scales set up for the people of affliction, nor record spread for them.’ Then he recited this verse: “Indeed the patient will be paid in full their reward without any reckoning…”

اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَّعَجِّلْ فَرَجَهُمْ وَالْعَنْ أَعْدَائَهُمْ اَجْمَعِيْن

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) said:

'Those among you who have the best status with Allāh, most High, are those who prolong their hunger and contemplation. Those of you who are most hated by Allāh, most High, are those who sleep, eat and drink excessively.’"

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā (salla llāhu ʿalayhi wa-alehe wa-sallam) said:

‘ Ali is the gateway to my knowledge and after me, he shall narrate all that is revealed. A true believer is one who loves him. Only a hypocrite will be his enemy. To look at his face is to earn Divine grace. Worship is to adore him  ”

As-salamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatoh,

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said:

‘On the Day of Judgment, a group would be seen in the most excellent and honourable of states. They would be asked if they were of the Angels or of the Prophets. In reply they would state: "We are‑neither Angels nor Prophets but of the indigent ones from the ummah of Muhammad ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ)". They would then be asked: "How then did you achieve this lofty and honourable status?" They would reply: "We did not perform very many good deeds nor did we pass all the days in a state of fasting or all the nights in a state of worship but yes, we used to offer our (daily) prayers (regularly) and whenever we used to hear the mention of Muhammad ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ), tears would roll down our cheeks”

 السَّلأمُ عَلَى الحُسَيْن، وَعَلَى عَليِّ بْنِ الحُسَيْنِ

 وَعَلَى أوْلادِ الحُسَيْنِ، وَعَلَى أصْحابِ الحُسَينِ

قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ  صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ   :

 مَنْ قَالَ سُبْحَانَ اَللَّهِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ كَتَبَ اَللَّهُ لَهُ أَلْفَ أَلْفِ حَسَنَةٍ وَ مَحَا عَنْهُ أَلْفَ أَلْفِ سَيِّئَةٍ وَ رَفَعَ لَهُ أَلْفَ أَلْفِ دَرَجَةٍ وَ مَنْ زَادَ زَادَهُ اَللَّهُ وَ مَنِ اِسْتَغْفَرَ غَفَرَ اَللَّهُ لَهُ

Holy Prophet Muhammad al Mustafā ( صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ) said:

"Whoever says ‘Subhānallāh wa bi-hamdih (سُبْحَانَ اَللَّهِ وَ بِحَمْدِهِ) ’, Allāh will write for him one million good deeds, erase from him one million bad deeds, and raise him one million degrees. And whoever increases (in saying it),  Allāh will increase for him. And whoever seeks forgiveness,  Allāh will forgive him."  ”

Note: We recite these Zikr on behalf of our Master, Imam  Sahib al-Zamān (عَلَيْهِ ٱلسَّلَام), and dedicate the reward to the captives and martyrs of Karbalā.
