Hi there

Am trying to convert a file that is in .VOB format (and is in a folder
called VIDEO_TS) from a DVD a family member sent me - I want to be
able to upload to my TF7100 to playback.

The file plays fine in windows media player but, when I try to convert
with Toppy FileMaker, I get an error: "Invalid .TS file - maybe the
input file is Program Stream format? Unable to process."

I'm a bit of a newbie to the video format thing, but figured that if
the file is in a folder called 'TS' that it would be in TS format? I
also tried renaming the file to .mpg - it still played in windows
media player, but again wouldn't work using Toppy FileMaker.

Do I need to convert the file to a different format (and if so, how?)
before using Toppy FileMaker?

Any suggestions/pointers you could provide would be greatly
appreciated.

Many thanks,

Matt

Hi Matt,

yes, the VOB file is a modification of a Program Stream file (PS
format) intended to be burnt to a DVD. Unfortunately not all
converters will deal with VOBs directly. A program I have used is
Quick Media Converter from Cocoon software - I haven't tried it on a
vob, but it looks like it should do it. You need to convert to a TS
(16:9 of course). Have a go at that, and if you can't get it running,
let me know.

Hi Jaffaman

Thanks for quick response (and apologies for delay from my end!).

Can report that I followed your suggestion and have just successfully
watched the converted file on my Toppy!!!!!

Many, many thanks for your help and for the FileMaker!

Cheers,

Matt
