Selah was originally formed by brother and sister, Todd and Nicol Smith (now Nicol Sponberg), along with friend Allan Hall.[2] The group quickly gained success with the release of their first album, Be Still My Soul, in 1999. They became known for transforming old Christian hymns into a more modern style and with their powerful voices and beautiful harmonies.[3] Todd and Nicol, who spent their childhood in Subsaharan Africa, brought many African elements to their songs as well. They are as comfortable singing in Kituba, as they are in English.[2] Todd gives credit for his music career to his missionary upbringing. "I've been singing in front of people since I was three," he said. "My parents are missionaries. When we came back to the United States, we had to visit each church that sponsored us. That was a good training ground."[4] They also did well-known covers of already-famous songs such as "You Raise Me Up" by Secret Garden and "Bless the Broken Road" by Marcus Hummon. Selah went on to win a Dove Award for their debut album.
In April 2000, Nicol Smith released her self-titled solo debut on Curb Records.[5] She met and married Greg Sponberg in 2003. Nicol Sponberg released her second solo album, Resurrection (Curb Records), in 2004. The single "Crazy In Love" crossed over to the secular Adult Contemporary charts while songs like "Safe" continued to earn her airplay on Christian radio. Todd also produced a solo album, Alive, in 2004.
After auditioning 15 female vocalists, Amy Perry became a full-time member based on her vocal abilities and spirituality.[6] Allan Hall also began to get a more active singing role, from originally being the band's accompanist.
AMERICA's award winning harmony group Selah release their seventh album, 'YouDeliver Me', on 25th August. The project was produced by Dove Awardwinners Bernie Herms, Jason Kyle, Todd Smith and Allan Hall. It is thegroup's first album for three years and follows the birth and death ofAudrey Caroline Smith, daughter of founding member Todd Smith and hiswife Angie. Angie really wanted to have a song we couldplay at Audrey's memorial, a song that expresses the things we wouldhave wanted to show or tell her. She and I sat down with Christa Wellsand we wrote 'I Will Carry You (Audrey's Song)'. Even though there areso many things we are never going to experience with Audrey, God ismaking those things much more beautiful and greater in His care.Anytime we can tell Audrey's story it gives her life weight andpurpose, and to hope and believe that so many people will beministered to through this song is really meaningful."

Since 1997, Selah has been a mainstay in Christian music. The original trio was comprised of brother and sister Todd and Nicol Smith, and their friend Allan Hall. Nicol married and left the group in 2004, and Amy Perry joined a few years later.
The trio has sold more than 4 million albums and singles, and garnered seven Dove Awards. Despite their previous accomplishments, their most recent album, You Amaze Us, has achieved unprecedented success.
This song allows people to move through the pain and weakness we may feel when we start singing, but by the end of it, we are ready to shout in victory because of Christ. It builds to a moment of triumph. And we need that in this life.

The album title was exclusively revealed by High Contrast for Annie mac Live on Radio One.
The only drum+bass artist we can think of who can get away with writing tunes about existential metaphysics and drawing on renaissance artwork for the cover imagery.
The title track is an organ-chiming, synth-soaring burst of opposing energies with uplifting strings, thumping drums and cooing vocals from upcoming Welsh star Selah Corbin.
?Father, Cant You See Im Burning? is the accompanying deeper, darker six and a half minute venture on the flipside. From an eerie intro full of tense, cinematic SFX and haunted whisperings, it builds into a compelling melodic main part with crisp breaks, atmospheric sweeps and an immense midway breakdown.
