As Muslim youth develop key communication skills in their academic experiences, we also want to recognize the ideas they are most passionate about!
We are excited to introduce *MATIN Talks,* a public speaking platform designed to bring our youth's ideas to the spotlight. MATIN Talks encourages *Muslim Active Thinking* by creating a platform for Muslim youth to speak about issues they feel strongly about in 12-minute short talks. In short, MATIN Talks is like the Muslim Ted Talks. It's where Muslim communities compete in locals and have the choice to send their winners to MATIN Talks nationals held at the MSA-PSG conference every year.
For more information, check out the MATIN Talks local website:
This year, Muslim Community School will be hosting the *very first MATIN Talks Local in the Washington DC area.* All youth in the DMV area between ages 13-25 may register at the following link:
*The deadline to register is Friday, November 15th at 10:00 PM.
*Once the MATIN Talks team reviews the applications, five contestants will be chosen for the strongest ideas and abstracts and will be individually contacted to perform at the MTL program on December 1st, 6:00 PM at the Islamic Education Center.
We encourage all youth to consider this opportunity and bring their ideas to the spotlight. Other Muslim youth in the area will also be participating, so let's represent!
