Hello everyone,

This is what I have right now https://imgur.com/ozqNcAB, as you can see my report has both modules with 0% and N/A on Missed Instructions and Missed Branches.
Obviously the 0% results are helpful and I want to keep them, even if they have a 0% and a N/A, but modules with N/A in both columns can I hide them in some way? I don't really need them to be there.
Therefore I was wondering if there is a way to hide the modules that have N/A in both Missed columns just in the report, I want to keep them in the pom files, this way if anything changes and they get a percentage they will show automatically.

Thanks,
Carmine

Hi Carmine,

just to be sure: what tool are you exactly using to create the report?

Sorry, i forgot to add this.
I am using Maven for a java project, so I'm doing everything with pom.xml files.

So you're using JaCoCo's report-aggregate goal?

Is there public repo have a look at your build configuration?

Hi Marc,

So you're using JaCoCo's report-aggregate goal?

Yes, that's exactly what I am using.

Is there public repo have a look at your build configuration?

Unfortunately I am working in a local repo.
This is the pom I use for the report-aggregate: https://pastebin.com/FWmnLEZt
And this is the configuration for the agent: https://pastebin.com/fNxHWczJ

Hi Carmine,

I just discussed your request Evgeny and we came up with the following remarks/questions:

1) There can be various configuration mistakes which can lead to empty coverage reports for some modules. If we “magically” hide them from the report this will hide such configuration errors and might confuse user.
2) If you explicitly list the modules, what exactly is the problem to have them visible in the report (even if empty)?

Regards,
-marc

Hi Marc

I just discussed your request Evgeny and we came up with the following remarks/questions:

Thank you for putting your time into this.

1) There can be various configuration mistakes which can lead to empty coverage reports for some modules. If we “magically” hide them from the report this will hide such configuration errors and might confuse user.

I understand this clearly, and I don't want them to disappear magically.

2) If you explicitly list the modules, what exactly is the problem to have them visible in the report (even if empty)?

More than anything else, it was a curiosity. I was wondering, as I said before, if there was the possibility to hide it, I really don't need it, as you said it could help find configuration errors. I was just discussing all the N/A results with a colleague and if it was better to have them all for a clearer and more comprehensive report instead of removing them from the report.
I understand you now, of course, and it is much better to have everything visible for a complete overview of the coverage, I will simply remove the modules from the list if we don't really need them in the report.

Thanks again,
Carmine

-marc

Hi Carmine,

thanks for coming back with clarification of your use case! Such feedback really helps us to set priorities for JaCoCo's features.
