Our Muslim Youth and MIST Competition Results!

A message from Sr. Ayesha Sheema:

Assalamualaikum,

We are proud to announce that one of our competitors for MIST-NY 2016 (Muslim Interscholastic Tournament- NY)  from our town has made it to the MIST Nationals, which will be held in Toronto during the last week of July.

Hassan Nazar, a senior at Johnson City High School, achieved fourth place in Level 1 Qur'an, and as such, has made it to MIST Nationals. Hassan is a Hafiz-ul-Qur'an.

The whole team is delighted to have achieved this in the second year of us competing in MIST-NY. Our competitors enjoyed their time in New York City during it. Our team was comprised of 14 students.

Hassan Nazar, Arsalan Alvi, and Mehvish Khan also made the top 15 in 2D Art, 3D Art, and Photography respectively. Our MIST BOWL team also made it to the quarter-finals. The team won the Best Character award as well.

The whole team is already preparing for next year's competition. Inshaallah, we will win more competitions next year.
