On my server, I don’t need to “hear” audio coming in or going out on the server. All I care about on the server is that the connections from and to the clients are made. I can tell because when a client connects I automatically see the graphed connections happening among the clients in qjackctl, which I run after starting JackTrip in terminal. Now you may not be using qjackctl on the server, but it sure helps to see what’s going on. So, if you run qjackctl, my question would be: Are the graphed connections being made? If the connections are being made between clients, the you have some app on the server hijacking the audio. If the graphed connections are not being made, then I suggest you have port problems. Regardless of your firewall status, verify the ports used by JackTrip are open using a port checker like
https://portchecker.co/ or I suppose you could telnet to check the ports.
