Hi. I am back at trying to get a working installation on my MacBook (Big Sur).

jackd will not start from qjackctl. it will start and run and jacktrip can make do client and server from the command line.

Although install did create sym links for jackd and jacktrip, the OS reports - does not exist - unless I use sudo.

Some sample output which also shows the versions installed:

/ % ls -la /Library/jacktrip/1.3.0/jacktrip

-rwxr-xr-x  1 root  wheel  5082024 Jan 24 15:57 /Library/jacktrip/1.3.0/jacktrip

 / % jackd --version

zsh: command not found: jackd

 / % sudo jackd --version

Password:

jackdmp version 1.9.17 tmpdir /tmp protocol 8

 / % sudo jacktrip --version

JackTrip VERSION: 1.3.0

Software was installed with "for all accounts" yes.

The successful command line to start jack is:

sudo jackd -dcoreaudio -d"AppleUSBAudioEngine:Focusrite:Scarlett 2i2 USB:Y8RNB4H9B8768B:1,2" -r48000 -p128 &

Again - no joy at all unless I use sudo which I guess should not be required.

FWIW I copied this from the qjackctl generated command.

Troubleshooting suggestions please!

Thanks,
Norman
