Scholarship auditions/Annual reviews will be held NEXT WEEK!
Remember, even if you are not applying for a scholarship, you must
participate in the audition or portfolio review.
The auditions will be held Tuesday and Wednesday after the directing
one acts and Friday in the afternoon. Sign up sheets will go up in
the next couple of days.
To be considered for a drama scholarship, students must meet the
following criteria:
* Have and maintain a grade point average of 2.5 per term, 2.5
overall, and 3.0 in Drama courses.
* Be a declared Drama major.
* Have a maximum of three (3) cuts in drama related major courses.
* Make a contribution (either on or back stage) to each production
in the term.
* Be enrolled in at least one drama course per term.
* Be a full-time (12 hour load minimum) JSU student.
Scholarship auditions and interviews are held in the Spring of each
year. In addition to a current resume, students should prepare:
Performance concentration (no Improv or original material):
* One-minute comic monologue
* One-minute serious monologue
* OPTIONAL-1 minute song or dance.
Design/Technical Concentration:
* Portfolio of stage scenery, props, costumes, lighting or sound
technical or design work.
* Optionally you may also present other original artwork that is
relevant.
Tuesday/Wednesday from 6-7:30
Friday from 3-5
Remember, ALL drama majors must participate in this process. It is
not only for scholarship purposes, but is part of your annual
evaluation for the department.
For Design/technical majors, there is a sign up list on the call
board. Information for performance majors can be found on the window
of the lobby.
