The department will be hosting a pair of classes taught by Fabio Pires
later this month. Mr. Pires is currently a New York based actor who is
also an alum of JSU.
Business class: Sept. 27 and Sept. 29 – 10-11 AM

This class will cover the business side of acting. Topics will include
understanding the marketplace, defining and marketing your product,
understanding agents and the hiring hierarchy, and establishing a
career vs. having a hobby. This class will be held in room 236 Stone
Center.
On-camera class: Sept. 27 and Sept. 28 1 to 5 pm, - 1 to 5 pm
In this class students will be introduced to the basics of acting for
the camera. In this hands-on course, students will perform sides in an
audition-style environment learning to interpret the script, work the
frame, and demonstrate behavior. This class will also be held in Stone
Center room 236. Sign up sheets are on the callboard.
