Guys- there were some things that occurred on the ride tonight that were completely unacceptable. When the group was doing a paceline on Roberts Station Rd. the right side of the line was almost on the center line and the left side of the line was in the oncoming lane.

Three cars passed while this was going on. One from behind and two oncoming. All three had to literally drive off the road to get around you guys. I was riding just off the back and witnessed every second of it.

***Considering that that road is full of bridges we were extremely EXTREMELY lucky that it didn't happen on a bridge where an oncoming car had nowhere else to go.***

I shouldn't have to tell you the safety reasons why we shouldn't ride this way- I'm assuming no one wants to be a hood ornament. But the fact that three drivers and their passengers (and by now their families and every contact they have on social media)  now think that cyclists are complete jerks drives me crazy. We already have had run-ins with folks and they way the group rode tonight, we deserve every bit of their scorn.

If we are riding a double or rotating paceline we need to stay as far to the right as road conditions allow. It's not that hard. We need to be ever mindful of the traffic around us. When "car back" or "car up" are called that means EVERYONE needs to move over to the right as much as possible. If riders are drifting back from a pull they should be allowed in line as quickly as possible when a car is coming so that we aren't three riders wide.

I know you are all good riders and I was bragging just today about how well organized of a group we have, but actions like this cannot continue!!!

Ride safe, ride smart, and sometimes ride fast!

And I am also mad at whoever threw those deer in front of me.

Thanks!
