I'm on windows 10 and can confirm compass even after checking install compass option during installation did not install. That wasn't surprising considering compass is 158 MB and mongo db download was very quick.

I installed a mongo db version of 1.20.5 mongodb-compass-1.20.5-win32-x64 on my windows machine and it launches its self automatically after installation. When i close it, i cannot find its icon on desktop to launch it.I used Mongodb Compass documentation but i could not find how to relaunchI tried to look for it in the program files but i could not find it but its in the list of installed programs.Please, how can i launch it again.

MongoDB compass is made using electron and electron have many dependencies. And one of them is windows-release. This dependency try to find details about your OS and for do that dependency have commands like Get-CimInstance -ClassName Win32_OperatingSystem and wmic get os Caption. And for some systems, this command threw and error, so your screen stuck on loading page.

Hi! First timer using MongoDB and Compass. I setup a free DB on atlas. I'm all up to date on windows updates for windows 10. Task manager shows that compass is running but a window isn't launching. Am I missing something? Here is what it shows in task manager even though I only clicked on it once. Thank you!
