For months or years, I have not been able to to reach notepad-plus-plus.org (Notepad++) application update check or web browser,and I've come across random other sites too that I can't remember. I even opened a ticket and was dismissed because the section: 'ServersCheck Route' shows connected. I don't know if it is really representative of user-side. Here's what I have done:

Since you've already downgraded to .2 I'd suggest you close Opus completely, close all Explorer windows, open an elevated cmd prompt (elevated just in case), un-register the dll with

I am already using that setting, though.
It's just that, with a certain frequency, the system feels rather laggy ... and in almost all of those cases when I check task manager there are several rather busy explorer instances, even when no file manager windows are open. I used to try to figure out the cause for weird behavior like that and spent way too much time reading logs and tracing back handles in 'Process Explorer'. But I'm done with that nonsense.
Explorer acts up, it gets the hammer.
"Menu visible" - The "Edit with Notepad++" is visible with default DOpus configuration
"With Shift" - Enabled the "Hide Windows Item in the file context menu" under windows integration
"With FileType" - Added Settings->File Types->All Files->Context Menu settings as described above
I am sort of doing that now, I figured out how to open stuff did notepad, but I keep having to select what app I want to open it with. I will probably find the check box at some point.
Also, if I wanted to start writing another choice book, would I be able to create a new start up file and such, or I have to delete the stuff I already have in the current start up, and then right from scratch?
I have downloaded the zip file of notepad++ and after running it there is no option displaying for connecting ftp account also there is no option to see Plugins > NppFTP > Show NppFTP Window
