Just like Heaven is a 2005 American romantic comedy fantasy-adventure film directed by Mark Waters, starring Reese Witherspoon, Mark Ruffalo, and Jon Heder. It is based on the 1999 French novel If Only It Were True (Et si c'était vrai...) by Marc Levy.

On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 54% of 151 critics' reviews are positive, with an average rating of 5.6/10. The website's consensus reads: "Delightfully sweet like a lollipop, Just Like Heaven is a dreamy romantic comedy that may give you a toothache when it attempts to broach difficult end of life issues by throwing a cherry on top."[2] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 47 out of 100, based on 31 critics, indicating "mixed or average" reviews.[3]

If the earl had asked Marcus his opinion, he might have got a different answer. But the earl saw his son once per day, just prior to the evening meal. Their interview lasted about ten minutes, then Marcus went up to the nursery and the earl to his formal dining room, and that was that.

She was just so sick of the silence that had taken over her home. She hated the sound of her footsteps clacking across the floor, hated that it was so frequently the only noise she heard all afternoon.

He supposed he ought to start making plans to go down to town for the season. He had not been lying when he told her he had business to attend to here, although it probably would have been more accurate to say that he simply preferred to remain in the country. There was nothing that required his presence in Cambridgeshire, just quite a lot that would be made easier by it.

In the movie, Elizabeth is so obsessed with her work as a doctor, she has put everything else in life on hold, including relationships with freinds and family. David is completely lost with no direction in his life having just been through the death of his wife. Their worlds collide in the most unusual of ways and it makes for an adorable story with a happy ending, my favorite kind! ?

Another wonderful view of the bay window during the daytime. Can you just imagine all the light coming into the real life apartments in San Francisco with those great bay windows! They really give you a panoramic view of the city!

Are you familiar with San Francisco? You may recognize this little cafe called Caffe Trieste. I just loved how it looked in the movie, I think it may look like this in real life. Anyone know? Seeing it makes me want to have lunch there with a friend.

Kelly Ripa and her hubs just sold their roof top apt. in NY. They wanted it to be as close to an outdoor area for their 3 children as possible. Google, and I bet you can see what they did to make it spectacular. No word on why they are leaving now. I loved the movie you wrote about today too. Apt. living has always been an interesting concept to me. I think it is best suited for the young folks (Friends, Seinfeld, ect.) However, lots of wealthy baby boomers love the life too, with most having homes elsewhere, for weekend get-aways.

Now. If you like intense conflict, this is not the book for you. If you like angst, this is not the book for you. If you like large scale events and much arrival of the drama, with dark and painful emotions, this is not the book for you.

The one thing I really want from Quinn is Miss Butterworth and the Mad Barron. She taunts the readers with snippets of this amazingly melodramatic gothic novel. And in just general Julia Quinn love: I wish there was a way to insert a game of Bridgerton Pall Mall into every book.

I am delighted about the idea of learning a bit more about the Smythe-Smiths, and look towards this a a bit of light summer reading. The way Marcus falls in love with Honoria sounds a lot like how a certain well-traveled Bridgerton falls in love with a girl who once wore too much orange.

Sure! If you've written a review for a romance that you think might interest the community or you'd like to rant and/or squee about a book, and you haven't published it elsewhere, please email Sarah. She'd love to hear from you!

In "Just Like Heaven," a man falls in love with a woman only he can see. She's not a ghost, because she's not dead, but a spirit. Why is she visible only to him? Perhaps because he has moved into her apartment. In a movie like this there is no logical reason for such matters. They simply are, and you accept them.

Elizabeth is a young doctor at a San Francisco hospital. She is still single in her late 20s, and pulls 26-hour shifts in the emergency room. A friend despairs of her unmarried status and wants to fix her up. "I'm perfectly capable of meeting men on my own," she says. The friend: "I know you are. I just want you to meet one that's not bleeding."

I also liked the dialogue, by Peter Tolan and Leslie Dixon, as when it turns out that Elizabeth's little niece can also see her: "My fate is in the hands of a 4-year-old, who has seven other imaginary friends." And when she finally persuaded David to take her case: "You have two realities to choose from. The first is that a woman has come into your life in an very unconventional way and she needs your assistance. The second is that you're a crazy person, talking to himself on a park bench."

Marcus Holroyd is very much like any other Regency nobleman. His parents conceived him then basically left him to nurses and tutors to raise. He went to Eton and there met Daniel Smythe-Smith who befriended Marcus and invited the lonely young boy home for holidays where he became almost one of the boisterous Smythe-Smith clan. The youngest sibling by far was Honoria, who tried to tag along with her beloved brother and Marcus but who, as young sisters are wont to do, usually ended up getting in the way.

Another long time reader who read romance novels in her teens, then took a long break before started back again about 25 years ago. She enjoys historical romance/fiction best, likes contemporaries, action- adventure and mysteries, will read suspense if there's no TSTL characters and is currently reading more fantasy and SciFi.

Our wonderful vacation would not be possible without the great people at Joe Lamb we very much appreciate all the work that you all do for us. You made a middle-aged hard-working couple feel like kids again full of joy and happy memories. I cried all the way across the bridge when we left yesterday. Thank you so much again and please take care. Tracey T.

I just want to give you 5 stars on rental service in the Nags Head area. Hoping we are able to rent it again next year my daughter in law has her name in on the list:) Its been my 6th trip to Nags head in as many years and NEVER has there been any issues or anything unsatisfactory. Thanks for all you do to have made my experience with Joe Lamb Rentals 100% all the time! Marilyn W.

While we come to the Outer Banks every year, if not more than once a year, this was our first time coming to the Outer Banks for Thanksgiving, and our first time using Joe Lamb. Joe Lamb was one of the best, most attentive companies that we've ever used. Everyone had such a great attitude, when it could have been easy to be stressed out around the holidays. The home was PERFECT for our group and for us to spend Thanksgiving in. It was actually beyond our expectations. It was clean, the beds were comfortable, the kitchen was well equipped. We will definitely be renting not only from Joe Lamb again, but likely this house! Jade F.

We just wanted to thank you for your help in having a great vacation in the Outer Banks. We rented Santopia (052) in Nags Head through your agency. The whole rental process -- reservation, check-in, check-out, linen rental, etc. -- was so easy. You guys are great at what you do! Thanks so much! - Michael N.

After witnessing the most bizarre and beautiful MGMT set the world has ever seen, we almost forgot that we had one more incredible act on the schedule. At the end of a long day of early 2000s indie rock acts, you need the magnetic charisma of someone like Karen O to carry you through to the very end. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs delivered an invigorating set that delighted and thrilled at every turn.
