Bginfowould modify the background image, but would totally do it. While by default, it shows a range of useful information, you can set an arbitary bit of text. Works from anything from XP to 10. Its portable (you run it and it creates the background image).
No. Personalization of background for desktop id made of images. You can search for a simple image editor and add your text to an image. I don't know, but you may try to look for desktop gadgets that show quotes or post its, and this way you will have a text on desktop too.
This is also a problem on my Surface 3. I installed Sublime Text 2 and scrolling worked, but when I disabled DPI scaling (by right-clicking the sublime text .exe and going to the Compatability tab) because it was blurry in Windows 8, the scrolling stopped working. This is a basic feature so I hope it gets working soon!
I tried poking around to see any differences: I wrote a small program that uses windows SetWindowsHookEx (1) function to listen to mouse wheel events, to compare the difference in the events that came from an attached mouse and the touchpad.
Hi, if you notice this letter, please just give a little time for this moment. As an old lover of windows all version, I find it seems no way in windows8contain only a progman window to get windows workerw1 and workerw2 layers separate from window "Program Manager" Progman (spy++) so as to add layer under desktop icon for transparency effect. Refer to the way sendmessagetoprogman
Well,According to the approach,I find that I shoud open Control panel>System and Secutiry>System>8and10indifference> Advanced system settings>Advanced>Performance Settings , and check on Animated controls...inside windows which triggers 2 workw appeared. If I true off, disappears. It is fun to know when you had checked on it,is there also no appearance of workerw and I should trigger by shift papers or code 0x52c.
So I set up Spy++, opened the personalization dialog and changed the wallpaper. It turns out, that when you change the desktop wallpaper, a new WorkerW window between the WorkerW instance that holds the Desktop Icons (SysListView32) and the Desktop Manager is created.
I'm sorry, but I don't fully understand your question. However, based on the context provided, it seems that you are asking about how to separate the workerW1 and workerW2 layers in Windows 8.1 in order to add a layer under desktop icons for opaque effect. Unfortunately, I don't have information on how to do this. The workerW1 and workerW2 layers are used for hit testing and message-only windows, respectively, and are not meant to be manipulated directly.
I'm running Windows 8.1. It's a clean install, and like I said everything did work ok for about a week but suddenly stopped. I've removed all the installed Adobe apps and reinstalled Creative Cloud, but it did not fix the issue.
If you update to the current version of the Creative Cloud desktop application it should allow you to resolve this difficulty. For more information please see Creative Cloud desktop has missing text in Windows 8.1 - -cloud/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-missing-text.html.

After upgrading to Windows 8.1 the CC app stopped working and when run just popped up a blank main window with a postage-stamp sized (1cmx1cm) window in front that never went away or closed. Reboots etc did not fix.
My theory is that a group of software engineers at Adobe hate the concept of CC so much that they have deliberately designed the world's worst piece of software. I have come across more bugs in what should be a trivial piece of interface software over the past few months than every other Adobe app put together. It's really a masterpiece of incompetence.
The app seems to work by embedding web pages into each view, which I imagine was done in order to get it written as fast as possible originally (it does look like it was written in a day). This probably means that whatever is stopping the text appearing could be fixed in a few minutes if someone actually looked into fixing this, so I can only imagine that internally Adobe have this listed as a low priority bug. Which it obviously isn't!
Also I've noticed in my Creative Suite that the sync option fails in every app. All the app help menus say that each app is signed in - but all of them say they aren't logged in when you try to sync. It worked once upon a time, so maybe this also stopped working when I upgraded to Windows 8.1.
You would think that all of these big companies like Adobe would at least update their software in advance (there were preview and dev versions of Win8.1 out well before the actual update rolled out) but no, that would be like living in a fairytale world.
But just to add some extra info to this thread, this has been happening to me from day 1 I got Creative Cloud for the first time (which was a couple days ago, after installing Win8.1). Sometimes when I open the CC app I get a white window with a blue box (which I presume is the big blue "Sign In" button) but other times like today it is fine and I can enter my email address and password, no issue.
i had the same issue after the last adobe update....since i had this before with windows 8.1 preview i knew there is a solution but i failed to find it no matter how much i searched and googled i cant remember who found it but i give him credit tho....any way the solution was to change 1 of the the language packs in 1 of the creative cloud folders which makes it "collapse" to the default english pack which brings the menu back from blank to normal....i cant remember which folder or which file it was so i did a shitty thing and deleted all the language packs EXCEPT the EN-US pack from any possible folder in c/program files/adobe/adobe creative cloud....now since i remember only part of the solution i did this method but its working. now the menu is back in english and i can see all the options and install apps and updates as normal....i hope some 1 will look into it "Deeper" becasue its a very destructive "solution" i do think it was about the hex folder or so but im not sure... any way i hope it will help thoes which other methods doesnt work for them.

step 2 leaves the cursor blinking in the label text field, expecting me to type in some text. I can leave this field (without entering text) by manually hitting ENTER. Can I get this done inside the macro?
I'm so pleased to have found this forum. I didn't realise there was so much love for old Palm devices. I started with a Palm V and worked my way up to a Tungsten T & palm Desktop 4.1.4 on WInXP and everything has been so good that I've resisted moving away from Palm Desktop as it does everything I need. But I've just bought a new Win8.1 PC and am having some problems that I hope someone here can help with.
I've been through the help here about installing Palm Desktop 6.2.2 and the win8 driver and the installation was very smooth and I could hotsync via usb with no apparent problem, except that Palm Desktop is not displaying any of my palm data!
When I first ran hotsync (from the palm cradle button) it asked for a user name. My Tungsten T was already being used on my XP PC and was full of data. So I entered the Tungsten user name and hotsync continued. it took a couple of minutes or so (as would be expected) and when complete it said everything was ok. I checked the Hotsync logand it confirmed everything was synchronised correctly - but when I opened Palm Desktop there was no data being displayed.
I then checked the data files in ...documents\Palm OS Desktop\.... and the address and datebook files are present and full of my data. I even opened them using Notepad and could easily see loads of ascii text amongst all the 'junk' characters, so it looks as if the sync process has worked correctly but nothing from my Tungsten is being displayed in the Palm Desktop.
I then added an event in the datebook in Palm Desktop and another event on the same day in the Tungsten. I then did another hotsync. It was reported as successful but the Tungsten event did not appear in the Desktop although the Desktop even DID appear on the Tungsten. So the sync process seems to be only working one way!
I initiated a hotsync via the cradle/usb and it ran correctly and reported success. Still no visible data in the Palm Desktop. I checked the address and datebook database files in \documents\Palm OS Desktop and their date and times had been updated to the time I just did the hotsysnc. I even closed and reopened the Palm Desktop but it made no difference.
So, I removed PD6.2.2, deleted the files left behind and rebooted the PC. I then restored the PC to a point before I even started trying the Palm stuff, then rebooted the PC. So all pretty clean I think.
I then installed PD4.1.4 and tried to hotsync. it didn;t work of course because I needed to reinstall the 64-bit usb driver. So I did that and hotsync was ok. The Tungsten contents were correctly transferred to the PC but none of the data was displayed in PD4.1.4.
I then reinstalled PD6.2.2, performed a hotsync. Again, nothing was displayed in the PD so I checked the data files and they were full of the Tungsten data. I then made separate entries for today in the PD and Tungsten and performed a hotsync. Neither entry was reflected in the other.
I made another entry in the Tungsten for today containing 'xyzzz' (so it would be a unique string in the database file) and performed another hotsync. I then opened the datebook database file on the PC with Notepad and did a 'find' for 'xyzzz'. Sure enough, it was in the datebook file.
