Carry thousands of books everywhere life takes you in a smaller size. The 6" scratch and fingerprint resistant screen reads like paper, even in direct sunlight. Get the GlowLight 4e for $89.99--$30 off the retail price--for a limited time only!

Many of the premade bookshelf dioramas are made in the USA, Europe and China so if you live outside of these countries, you need to factor in import taxes, duties and shipping costs which can easily double your price.

Imagine wandering into a fairy world with this fairy house bookshelf insert that fits snuggly between your books to create an atmosphere of enchantment and discovery. Carefully crafted, each piece is unique and the book nook comes fully assembled.

Another gorgeous bookshelf diorama of Diagon Alley which is made from wood and ships from the UK. If you live in Europe, this is a much more affordable premade bookshelf insert and has some glowing reviews on Etsy.

The seller reckons that you can assemble this in 2 hours and it comes with everything you need to make the bookshelf diorama including glue, USB powered LED lights and instructions. No tools needed, although it does come unpainted (which we personally like).

Imagine seeing this enchanting miniature forest scene in between your books. Walk down the shady path, past dragonflies, toadstools and a majestic stag then off into your imagination. The book diorama comes as a DIY kit so you need to make this yourself using the instructions (in English) provided.

For total DIY enthusiasts, it is possible to buy plans for some of these bookshelf inserts and laser cut the wood yourself. This is a much cheaper option but you need access to the materials and a laser cutter.

The Book Nook is a small ongoing book sale that is staffed by volunteers and is open during regular library hours. A variety of adult fiction & non-fiction titles are available along with a selection of teen & children's books. The stock is always changing so visit often. The proceeds from this book sale help fund library services.

If you wish to donate books for this sale, please feel free to put books in good condition in the plastic bins near the door to the Book Nook. Please do not drop off encyclopedias, textbooks, magazines, VHS movies, or books on cassette tape.

The library will CLOSE at 5 p.m. on New Year's Eve, Sunday, December 31, 2023, and remain closed New Year's Day, Monday, January 1, 2024.

Friends of Porter Public Library was founded in 1972 with the mission of supporting the library through volunteer service and monetary contributions. Since then the Friends have contributed over $1,000,000 and countless volunteer hours to the library. Check out this documentary produced in honor of their 50 years of service!

The Book Nook accepts donations of books, media and other items in good condition. Items are sold in the Book Nook and at the Friends' Annual Big Book Sale to benefit the library. Please review the guidelines for acceptable materials.

View and print the application (PDF) and bring it to the Information Desk at the library. The Friends' Board usually meets at the library on the second Thursday of every other month, and members are welcome to attend. An Annual Meeting is usually held in January (contact the Friends for information).

Organized in 1972, Friends of Porter Public Library is a 501(c)(3) non-profit volunteer organization which supports the library by giving volunteer service and monetary contributions. These monetary gifts support programs and purchase items that are beyond the library's regular budget.

The Friends raise funds from membership, Portables Gift Shop, the Book Nook, annual Book Sale, and periodic special fundraisers throughout the year. Since its inception, the Friends have donated over $1,000,000 to Westlake Porter Public Library! The donations have been used to purchase Outreach vans, underwrite the summer reading program, Joyful Noise programs, various staff incentives, computers and programs for the children's area, new shelving, furniture and equipment, library and audio materials, and programming.

In addition, the Friends provided funding for the Quiet Reading Room when the library went through a major renovation and doubled its size in 2001. They also provided underwriting for the biennial "WestFest", a literary celebration that brought accomplished authors to Westlake for lectures and school appearances. They donated money toward renovating the children's area. Every summer for three decades, the Friends held an annual Ice Cream Social, coinciding with the conclusion of the Summer Library Challenge.

The Black Book Nook Collection fosters education and community engagement with Black history, thought, literature, and culture. It currently has over 250 rotating books, and the collection is still growing.

This kit comes complete with meticulously crafted miniature figurines, detailed props, and all the materials you need to construct a mesmerising 3D scene that perfectly fits within the dimensions of the book nook.

This Book Nook is a literary treasure! It's a perfect blend of art and books, and it adds a touch of whimsy to my home. The miniatures are beautifully crafted, and I appreciate the creativity that went into making it.

I received this Book Nook as a gift, and it's become the centerpiece of my reading nook. The tiny figurines and intricate details are simply mesmerizing. It's a conversation starter, and I can't thank my friend enough for this unique present.

I've been collecting Book Nooks for a while now, and they never cease to amaze me. Each one tells a unique story, and the craftsmanship is consistently excellent. These little nooks have a special place in my heart.

My Book Nook is a mini-masterpiece! I can't believe the level of detail in such a small space. It's like having a secret world waiting to be discovered on my bookshelf. I'm already planning to buy more to create a Book Nook wonderland.

The Goodnow Book Nook is a gently used book store, operated by the Goodnow Library Foundation, based on the concept of giving back to the community. Generous donors give books to the Goodnow Book Nook and all proceeds from book sales go directly towards programming and activities at the Goodnow Library.

Buying is easy and flexible, and available 24/7 through the online site, or right here in the Library. The Book Nook carries everything from thrillers to bestsellers to cookbooks to picture books. Here are a few highlights:

We gratefully accept books and DVDs in good condition. Unfortunately, we cannot accept textbooks, worn or marked-up books, magazines, encyclopedias. We ask that you limit donations to 1-2 boxes or bags per visit. Please bring donations to the staff at the main circulation desk. Do not leave donations outside the library. Thank you for your support!

The Friends of the Henrietta Hankin Branch Library sponsor periodic Donation Days. Donations are used to restock the Book Nook and raise funds to support the library. Please bring donations to the Community Room.

The Book Nook was started in 2003 by Gretchen Schwobel and Maureen Torrens, as an outreach of the Friends of the Henrietta Hankin Library. It has grown and changed over the years. Many patrons are very pleased to see how well the books are displayed, the continually refreshed shelves and the monthly sale specials.

The Book Nook is located across from the Circulation Desk in the lobby of Henrietta Hankin Library. The Nook is open when the library is open. All payments are made to the Circulation Desk.

Proceeds from the sales of books help support the many library projects sponsored by the Friends of the Library. Twice annually the Nook holds book sales when the community, patrons, and book-resellers come in to find gems. After the sale, the Nook distributes un-purchased books to various local non-profits to aid in literacy. If you are a local non-profit and wish to be added to the list for post book sales, please contact us

Due to space limitations in the Book Nook area, many books offered at the book sale have not been offered in the Nook the previous six months. Some real finds are a bonus during the large book sales. The semi-annual book sales provide about half of the money donated back to the library for their programming needs. The remaining half comes from the weekly income earned in the Nook throughout the year.

The Book Nook is a used book shop located on the lower level of the main library. It is closed for the remainder of the Main Library renovation project. Through the renovation, the Friends of HDL will maintain blue carts with used books for cash only sales at both library locations. No book donations will be accepted at either library during the renovation project.
