Most departments and research units that submit grants are assigned a Sponsored Projects team consisting of an officer and an analyst. These teams work with the department or unit's contract and grant liaison to submit proposals and manage awards.
We have 15 mission teams of analysts, financial auditors, and specialists who work on reports and other products that examine various aspects of federal programs and services. Each mission team focuses on key issue areas that help GAO achieve its mission to serve Congress and the American people. Click a mission team to learn more.
The large research questions of our time are by their very nature not only interdisciplinary but increasingly complex, requiring the convergence of a broad set of fields, diverse teams, and new partnerships to address.
As noted by the National Academies, these convergent teams can answer new questions, produce more comprehensive knowledge and generate more effective applied solutions. However, the success of these teams is not a given, but requires adoption of evidence-based team science approaches proven to be effective for building, managing, and sustaining successful teams.
Here we provide a set of resources for UGA faculty to help them form new and strengthen existing teams as well as to successfully prepare, plan and execute large center-scale team research proposals and achieve the deep level of integration such proposals require between research, education, a culture of diversity and inclusion, and innovation ecosystem.
In order to standardize the Snow College campus, the Office of Information Technology (IT) has decided to use Microsoft Teams as our collaboration platform. Teams will allow both faculty and staff to seamlessly integrate with each other whether we are in our offices or working remotely. There currently are multiple platforms being used (Webex, Zoom, GoTo meeting, etc.) These accounts all still have their place but for total campus collaboration we feel that Teams will best meet our needs. Not only does Teams include video conferencing capabilities, you can collaborate on files securely, similar to Google Docs. Once Teams is set up and people start to see its full potential you will absolutely love it.
The capabilities of SharePoint Online enable a work group to store, share, and manage documents in a central location. It is designed to be the data storage and collaboration service for teams, work groups, and organizations. SharePoint Online acts as a tool for the coordination and progression of any project or document.
Microsoft Teams is popular as a valuable platform for communication and collaboration. The Teams interface not only includes a one-to-one or one-to-many chat and video calling features and can serve as a collaborative hub and workspace for a department or team. Microsoft Teams also includes such features as Files, Calendar, and the Activity Thread to help facilitate teamwork. The list of features and available app integrations continues to grow, making MS Teams a valuable resource for teams who are working remotely or across campus.

Coast Survey's mobile navigation response teams (NRT) conduct hydrographic surveys to update NOAA's suite of nautical charts. The teams are strategically located around the country and remain on call to respond to emergencies speeding the resumption of shipping after storms, and protecting life and property from underwater dangers to navigation.
Working with Coast Survey's regional navigation managers, NOAA's navigation response teams (NRT) work around-the-clock after a storm to speed the reopening of ports and waterways. The teams operate trailer-able survey launches equipped with multibeam and side scan sonar which help identify dangers to navigation.
During emergency response the NRTs provide time-sensitive information to the U.S. Coast Guard or port officials, and transmit data to NOAA cartographers for updating Coast Survey's suite of navigational charts. The teams also respond to maritime incidents such as vessel groundings, sinkings, or cargo loss that may require underwater searches to mitigate risk to life and property.
Requests for a NOAA navigation response team originate from the U.S. Coast Guard Captain of the Port, state pilot association, port authority, or U.S. Army Corps of Engineers office. Requesters work with NOAA's navigation managers to identify mission objectives and define the deliverable products.
