My daughter recently asked me for a reccomendation for a file viewer for 'CAD' files. Since she works with municipal authorities she tells me that they often send her ' electronic drawings' ( presumably 2D) of various facilities which she can't view and so she has to get hard copies made. I've done a couple of downloads of 'cad' viewer software but they are often inadequate or too complex/slow or they crash for no apparent reason ( Even the one from autodesk which I would have expected to be good). It appears that one of the file types that she is interested in is .step or .stp (presumbly in a 2D incarnation) and I was wondering how complex a task would it be to create an importer for this type. If it's too difficult or complex I will understand but could you please let me know so that I can continue my search into alternatives.

ISO 10303-21 defines the encoding mechanism for representing data conforming to a particular schema in the EXPRESS data modeling language specified in ISO 10303-11. A STEP-File is also called p21-File and STEP Physical File. The file extensions .stp and .step indicate that the file contains data conforming to STEP application protocols while the extension .p21 should be used for all other purposes.[3]

- No tessellation step in job-preparation needed and no need to handle tesselated files of the CAD design.
- no unclean representations of curves, esp. holes and filets.
- the possibility to use G2, G3(Arc) and G5(Bézier cubic spline) commands to create leaner G-code.

Path to STL or STEP file, specified as a string scalar or a character vector ending with the file extension ".stl", ".stp", or ".step". Use can also use the uppercase extensions ".STL", ".STP" or ".STEP", or any combinations of uppercase and lowercase letters in these extensions.

I think there is also a licensing issue with the nurb formats which would make the software cost prohibitive. Interpretations (how well step, iges, 3dm) are implemented into the software can cause geometry errors such as co-planer faces that can cause iterations in paralel surfaces causing striping.

Is it possible to import a STEP file into WoodWop?
Ideally. I'd like to import a step assembly and cut each of the individual parts. (Each part is flat 18mm plywood requiring cut and engrave operations)

My aim is to write a Python program that extracts the volume of the object in a STEP file. I was able to find that steputils and aoxchange are the two libraries present in Python but neither of them seemed to contain enough documentation about extracting the volume/properties from the file. Is there any document available that can explain this? I tried a similar use-case for STL files and was able to achieve it successfully using numpy-stl. I'm searching for something like numpy-stl for STEP files. Below is a sample code of how I achieved it for STL files.

STEP files are a popular file format used to store and transfer both 3D and 2D geometry models, parts, anddesign data. The moniker STEP stands for STandard for the Exchange of Product data. The file format canalso be categorized as ISO 10303. STEP files will either be labeled with .step or .stp. Both of theselabels are actually interchangeable and there is no difference between a .step file and a .stp file.

checkout.liquid is deprecated. It will be sunset for the Information, Shipping, and Payment checkout steps on August 13, 2024, and for the Thank you and Order status pages on August 28, 2025. Additional scripts and script tags will also be sunset for the Order status page on August 28, 2025.

The checkout is all hosted on one page, which means that the URL remains the same regardless of which step of the process a customer is on. To account for this, you can use the following JavaScript objects to identify where the customer is in the checkout process.

The Order Status page is usually considered as a checkout page. However, the first time a customer visits the page, it's considered as a Thank You page, where the Shopify.Checkout.step and Shopify.Checkout.page objects are defined.

If the customer revisits or reloads the page, then this checkout is converted to an order, and the page loads as an Order Status page, where the Shopify.Checkout.step and Shopify.Checkout.page objects are undefined and the Shopify.Checkout.OrderStatus object is defined.

All of the checkout steps are hosted at a single URL path, where the content is loaded dynamically depending on the current step. There are two main page events that are triggered during this process:

If you're collecting attributes on the Payment method step, then you should populate them with a placeholder value before allowing the order to proceed. If the attribute has a blank value, then it can cause an error noting that the checkout has changed.

Commissioning of the selected system, consisting of a plc type "CECC-D", and a service unit MSE6-E2M-5000-FB36-AGD is ex-plained step by step, using standard software tools as Festo_Field Device Tool (FFT) and CPX-FMT (Festo Maintenance Tool for CPX).

Hi,
with every update (20.0.4 at the moment) I have the same problem. Stuck in step5, but there is no error given (field is empty). My virtual server has not very much PHP memory (128 MB), so maybe this is the problem, but this is only a guess, since no error message is given.
After some manual updates, I find it most convenient to skip the verification by chnanging the .steps file to:
"state":"end","step":5
However, I always have a bad feeling, fearing that the update ultimately might fail and I have to set up the whole thing from scratch.
It would be nice if the dev team got a look into this problem.
Regards
