G'day all,

I'm the developper of the "Salut à Toi" project (
http://wiki.goffi.org/wiki/Salut_%C3%A0_Toi/en ), and I'd like to have a
stand at FOSDEM, but there is a requirement of 2 people always present
on the stand, and I'm alone. I am wondering if it is possible to have a
common stand with an other project, or to join the XSF stand...

Anyone ?

Thanks
Goffi

The XSF will probably have a stand, where will demo cool XMPP-based
apps. If you'd like to add yours to the list, go here:

http://wiki.xmpp.org/web/FOSDEM_2012_Demos

If you don't have a wiki account, ping me offlist or join the chatroom
at xmpp:x...@muc.xmpp.org and we'll create an account for you.

Ok I added my project to the wiki.

It will be my first FOSDEM, I don't know exactly how works devrooms. Is
it a room with computers where you do demos, or a talking place for
short conferences ? If it is the later, can I have a spot to present my
project ?
I'm pretty excited to attend this meeting :)

cheers

Devroom is a dedicated room for a project at FOSDEM. IIRC the last
couple FOSDEM it's usually used for short talks.
If you have a demo of a cool application of XMPP it sounds to be a
better fit for the booth. I think the XSF got a booth this year IIRC.

cheers,
Tobi

Hmm, will there be a stand?

I've decided to travel to FOSDEM and could bring with me a XMPP-server
on a (Seagate) DockStar or BeagleBoard (8x8cm board). Should be enough
to serve several hundred clients. ;)

Alexander

There will be the mother of all stands - people who've already joined
the sum...@xmpp.org list will have seen Ralph's post that we've got a
whole "longue" area to play with.

We just need to fill it...

Help (on the summit@ list) appreciated.

Dave.

We can have two buddycloud-ers demoing XMPP's native federation, security,
inherent identity and trust model.

I can also bring a nice big poster that will help attract people to the
stand. Stickers too. If there's a lounge area we could also do an XMPP
server + buddycloud server install-a-thon. "The first hit is always
free"...
