Hello presidents,
I'm writing to you about a new event that we (IBA and ASA) are trying to organize this fall and for which we need your help. It's called Anderson Global Night - the idea is to convert one of the Anderson Afternoons into a small cultural show where international students wear their ethnic dresses and do a few cultural performances. This would be organized at the Alumni Plaza, with the ASA sponsoring the usual food and drinks.
The only additional expense of doing this at Alumni Plaza is the UCPD presence. The cops need to be called for any event where alcohol is served. And this expense is around $900. We together represent the 9 identity clubs of an international nature so if we could contribute $100 each, we'd be able to organize this event and facilitate better interaction between the international and domestic students early on in the year.
Please let me know by Monday EOD if you can contribute. This is a really easy way of putting together a nice cultural event in the fall quarter without much additional expense. I look forward to your cooperation in making it happen. (The
event invitations will carry branding of all contributing clubs and IBA + ASA will handle logistics.)

I think this email is only calling for financial contributions ($100). Guess they are just trying to figure out if they can get enough money at this point to test the feasibility of the event, so the idea of "performance" may come later on? Anyways, I dont have any objections in regards to contributing $100. It will be also nice if we can put out some kind of cultural perfoamance too (1st year and 2nd year together) if feasible. - Sai
