JAA  Members:

I, and the members of the JAA Board of Directors, are very pleased to announce that the Constitution and Bylaws of the JAA passed!  We thank each of you who voted, for taking the time to read through the documents and share your opinions and suggestions with us.  Since this is intended to be a living document, we are excited by all positive input we have had.  A PDF version of the document has been attached to this email for your reference and a link will be provided on the website.

Also, I’d like to take this opportunity to address a concern that was raised during the voting period.  A question was brought to the board concerning the possibility that members may not have received notification of the vote.  I assure you that the JAA Board of Directors have acted in good faith to make sure that all members are aware of what is going on in the organization, events, and votes.  As new members join the JAA, their email address are directly added to the email list, as well as when members update their information with us.  Also, the email list is periodically checked against the database of members in good standing with the JAA.  Once an email address has been added to the email list, or one has changed, the member receives an email from Google informing them that they must “join” (essentially opt in) the email list and that this is the JAA’s primary form of communication.  If the members choose not to join the email list, or choose to be removed from the list, then they do not receive any more emails from the JAA. In order to account for these members, we make sure to post items on the JAA’s website as well as on our different Facebook groups, etc…  As such, if you did not receive the email concerning the vote, or know of someone who did not, we would like to hear from you, so that we can research the cause and try to ensure that it is resolved for future notifications.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth C. Stiegman
JAA National President
