JaamSim and Geographic Information System (GIS)

Is it possible to connect JaamSim and GIS .. ? Has someone already tried this or is there maybe any example available .. ?

Hi Stephan,

The Pro version of JaamSim includes the ability to display tiled maps from OpenStreetMap or similar map servers. It does not include the ability to read GIS files.

The attached image shows an example model that is included in the Pro version.

But is it possible to display OpenStreetMap with the the JaamSim stardard version using the OverlayImage function ?

You can use an OverlayImage to display an image taken from some map software. Screen captures from Google Earth work well.

Correction:  Use a DisplayEntity to show the map image instead of an OverlayImage entity. Importing the image file to JaamSim creates an appropriate DisplayEntity that shows the image.
