I am a new user of Jaamsim, testing it out for potential use in a hospital setting. When I try to open a cfg file after saving a test model, I get the following error message in the log viewer. Can someone give me some insight on this? Thanks, Steve C.

Steve,

This looks like it has something to do with your computer's file system. What operating system are you using?

If you send me your input file, I can check to see if it is corrupted.

Harry, did you receive my reply along with the input file?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve,

The configuration file you emailed me is fine.

I tried to reproduce your error message without success:
  • Already having the .log file is okay -- JaamSim over-writes it.
  • Having the .log file open in another program is also okay.
  • Having spaces in the directory names in the file path is okay.
Do you have administrator rights for your computer? Is this a security setting problem?
Is the file path to the .cfg file in the error message correct? Try putting you configuration file some place else with a simpler file path.

Harry, I tried running it from a different location, with a simpler file path as you suggested, and it worked! Very interesting. Thanks for taking the time to review this and offer suggestions. Much appreciated.

Thanks,
Steve

Steve,

It's great that you've got JaamSim going now on your Windows computer.

It would be nice to know exactly what caused the problem so that we can fix it in JaamSim. Can you try putting your configuration file in other locations and see which ones don't work?

Sure, will do. By the way, are there any healthcare (or similar) examples that I could review in order to learn how to apply the various components of jaamsim in my environment?

Thanks,
Steve

Steve,

Another JaamSim user, Jerry Levasseur, has made a series of YouTube videos on Lean Six Sigma topics, including some health examples. His website is http://thebigleansimulationlibrary.com/. Click on the Health Care Simulations link.
