Cannot open .cfg file after saving

Hi Harry,

Just wanted to say thank you to you and your team for creating the software. I am having a problem re-opening any of the .cfg files that I create from JaamSim after I close out of it. I receive an error saying "GUIFrame quit unexpectedly" with an error log file. I am using a MacBook Pro currently on OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.5.

Nicole,

Please attach your .cfg file to another post so that I can see if it is corrupted in some way. You will need to join the forum to be able to attach files.

Nicole,

I was able to open the two cfg files you attached, and they look and operate okay. Can you please attach the log file that is generated when the error condition occurs? Could this have something to do with permissions on your computer and the location where you saved the cfg files?

Harry, 

I believe it may be an error with my computer but I'm unable to figure out what it is. I have attached the error log file, any insight would be great.

Nicole,

It looks like you are running Java 9 on your computer, which may be the cause of the problem. I don't have any experience with Java 9 yet (Java 8 release 161 is the recommended release for Windows computers at this time), but I see some things on the internet that suggest that it may cause the JOGL graphics system we use to crash. I believe that you can set OS X to use Java 8 as the default JRE.

Dear Harry,

I am new to JaamSim and have the same problem, I've created a new file and can't open it again. I am getting a popup window saying "GUIFrame quit unexpectedly". Kindly help.

Please attach a copy of your input file, the .pid file generated by the crash, and a copy of the .log file.

Mustafa,

I see from the pid file that you are running JaamSim on a MacBookPro. If it is using the OS X Mojave, then that is the problem. Unfortunately, Mojave introduced a new bug that we have not been able to solve yet. If that is the case, your only solution is the run JaamSim on another computer.
