Dear all,

I am experiencing an issue with the positioning of simulation elements in a JaamSim model. In the attached simulation, the 'placa' SimEntities do not always align centered on the EntityConveyors. For example, when transitioning from EntityConveyor1 to EntityConveyor2, the entire graphical representation of the SimEntity shifts until its back reaches the end of the conveyor, instead of continuing until its center reaches the end, as I believe it used to behave in earlier versions.

Has there been a change in the handling of entity alignment or graphical positioning on conveyors? Could I be missing a setting or property that restores the previous behavior?

Thank you in advance for your help.

Best regards,

Hi

Not sure if this is exactly the same question, but it's probably closely related. I have found a difference in the way an X alignment works between an EntityConveyor and an EntityDelay. In the case of an EntityConveyor, setting an X alignment does not seem to have an impact, whereas this does "work" with an EntityDelay. Attached model demos this. While there's lots to like with the EntityConveyor (especially accumulation), not being able to shift the location/alignment of items in the X direction (i.e. direction of travel) makes the graphics look odd when trying mimic a real conveyor. (Case [C] in the demo model illustrates what "good" would look like.) This is all based on 2025-04 version - I cannot comment on whether behavior has changed from earlier versions.

PS - thanks Harvey for fixing rea ltime speed issue: -03/-04 are fine again.

Dear all,

I would like to kindly follow up on the issue I raised some time ago regarding the graphical positioning of SimEntities in JaamSim. I have not yet been able to resolve it.

To briefly recap: in the attached simulation, the placa entities do not consistently remain centered on the EntityConveyors. For instance, during the transition from EntityConveyor1 to EntityConveyor2, the graphical representation shifts until the back of the entity reaches the end of the conveyor, rather than continuing until its center does—this contrasts with what I recall from earlier versions.

Has there been any update or change in the way entity alignment is handled on conveyors? Alternatively, could I be missing a parameter or setting that would restore the previous behavior?

I would appreciate any guidance or clarification you can provide.

Thank you in advance.

Best regards,

The positioning of entities on an EntityConveyor was changed to allow for the correct spacing of entities on an accumulating conveyor. However, I agree that this change causes problems for non-accumulating conveyors such as the one in your example. The next release will restrict these changes to accumulating conveyors and leave the non-accumulating ones unaffected.

The positioning of the entities for a non-accumulating conveyor has been fixed in release 2025-05.
