I'm not planning to update the benchmarks unless I hear from a vendor that they've improved the speed of their software. Is there a particular reason why you would like to see updated results?
Regarding the best simulation software, that really depends on your application. We like JaamSim of course because it is simple, fast, and customisable. If you need features that JaamSim doesn't have yet and the cost of the commercial software is not an issue, then there are lots of choices. I like AnyLogic because it provides the best programming interface and coding is done in standard Java instead of a proprietary language. If you don't want to do any programming, then you'll have to check each package to see if it can handle your application. You should choose the one that fits your application the best. Ask their technical support people how they would simulate your application.
The danger with commercial software is that it will do 90% of what you need quite easily, but the last 10% will cause you all sorts of difficulties. It's hard to spot that 10% in advance and identify suitable workarounds before investing a lot of time and money. It's not unusual to find that a commercial software package just cannot model one or more aspects of your system and that you are stuck.
