Popularity of JaamSim in Healthcare

Hi all,

I'm in the process of writing a manuscript on the development of a DES for an emergency department, and looking at prior literature I've only found one article that has used JaamSim in this same context. I've also come across a few literature reviews on DES in EDs and none of them have mentioned JaamSim in their software discussion. 

Given the fact that it's open source, I'm curious why you guys think it hasn't gained more popularity. I was able to find JaamSim after a bit of searching myself, but originally I thought that the only options would be the licensed based software.

At the risk of self-promotion, I have just had a paper published, albeit in a different domain, that used/referenced JaamSim.

Yea I've seen it more in other industries/contexts but specifically for healthcare when funding is so limited, I feel like it is such a good resource.
