Hi all,

I am not sure if this is a glitch or if I am doing something wrong.

I have an EntityProcessor in which I would like to process 10 entities simultaneously. However when I set the Capacity at 10, they dont enter the Server at the same time. They seem to still get processed one after the other. Even though the 10 entities get produced by an EntityGenerator at the same time, and go in the queue for this EntityProcessor at the same time, 1 entity enters the EntityProcessor, and the 9 others are waiting in the queue. Is there something else I need to input somewhere else to allow the EntityProcessor to allow 10 entities to be processed simultaneously?

Would a better way of simulating this be to use an EntityDelay icon, with and seize and release icons on either side?

Best wishes,
Vinith

The 10 entities should be processed simultaneously. Do the entities seize a resource through the EntityProcessor? If so, this could be causing the bottleneck.

It shouldn't be necessary to use a Seize, Release, and EntityDelay to model your system.

If you cannot figure it out yourself, attach a copy of your model to your next post.

Hi Harry,

Yes the entity processor seizes a scientist, and I need the resources (one scientist) to handle all entities simultaneously. Which is why within, I have specified ’NumberofUnits’ = 1, ‘Capacity’ = InputValue (Client_Projects). So I think there might be something Im missing.

Please find attached the beginning part of my model. Really appreciate any help.
Please let me if anything is unclear!

Things to consider are:
Resources:
Scientist: 1 available
PCR machine: 96 slots available. i.e. One slot can be used by 1 entity.

Entity Processors:
SM/A_PREP: Uses 1 scientist, processes all the entities at once
PCR_Cyling: uses PCR machine, can handle 96 Client projects at once. So in my case would handle all 10 simultaneously.

Best wishes,
Vinith

I was wondering if anyone had time to look at what I was doing wrong potentially?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
