Object Rotation Animation

Hi Jaamsim community, My name is Manolo Gutierrez.

I am new using jaamsim, I have a query:

In Jaamsim you can rotate a Shape1 object and or DisplayEntity within the simulation, I want to simulate the movement of an excavator's arm when loading material into a truck (truck: SimEntity, Excavator: Server ). I want to do the animation in 2 and 3D. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thank you very much. note: I reviewed the example of crane that shows jaamsim but it is not clear to me how it is configured with the SineWave objects.

Section 11.2.5 "ColladaModel" describes how the animations in a .dae file can be displayed in JaamSim. Use the OpenCollada plugin for 3dsMax or Maya to generate the .dae file. The built-in Collada exporter provided by these software packages is worst than useless. If you are using Blender, I cannot give you any specific information about its ability to export a .dae file with animations. Its Collada exporter has been improved in recent years, so it may be possible now.

Hi Cristiano,

Your animation relies on the SetGraphics object which changes the appearance of an incoming object (or some other object). The type of animation I am referring to relies on the ColladaModel to allow an object to change its shape in some continuous movement, e.g. the movement of a robot arm. This type of animation is much more difficult and normally requires the services of a professional 3d artist to create the Collada (.dae) file.
