JaamSim for Mac M1

Has anybody had success running JaamSim on Macs with the M1 chip on macOS 11.1 or later?

Unfortunately, the 3d graphics software JOGL used by JaamSim does not support the M1 chip yet.

No, the M1 chip is not supported yet. We will be testing a possible solution in the next few weeks.

M1 Users,

We have a version of JaamSim for the M1 that we would like someone to test for us. It can be downloaded from https://github.com/jaamsim/jaamsim/releases/download/v2021-06-ARM/JaamSim2021-06-arm.jar.

If this works correctly, we will integrate it with the standard jar file.

Thank you for running this test. Just to be sure, can you confirm that you used a Mac with the M1 chip instead of an Intel chip?

You can ignore the suggestion to update your drivers. It is not relevant in this case.

I am on m1 MacBook pro. Confirmed!

I also updated my java runtime to the latest.  I also looked to update my jogamp.  However, it requires xcode to compile, and I am out of drive space.  Yeah, stop-gap machine while I wait for the new MBP max.

Any update on JaamSim on Mac + M1? I am running a class in which we get students to run JaamSim from source (as we add a custom library) and our Mac users are not having much joy.

Michael,

Several Mac users have reported that they run JaamSim successfully under Parallels. This is the only solution for Mac users running a recent version of Mac OS or that use the M1 chip.
