Hello,

I am quite new to JaamSim version 2025-10, and despite trying different approaches there is two things I can't manage to do:

- I have an EntityConveyor which speed varies at some precise time. There is always several Entities on the conveyor. Sometimes, when the speed changes (the value is correct in the Output Viewer), the entities on the conveyor do not match the new speed until the entity which is the closest to the end of the conveyor has left the conveyor, as if their speed wasn't updated until then.

- In order to check this issue, I wanted to display the speed of the entities going on the conveyor, but I can't find how. Let say my DisplayEntity prototype is named ProductA, how do I collect the speed of the entities ProductA10 and ProductA11 for example?

Thank you for your help!

Regards,

Laurent

Hi Laurent,

You are correct that the conveyor does not change its speed until an entity enters or leaves the conveyor. We should be able to add a WatchList input to EntityConveyor that will trigger an update when some other object changes state. This should allow you to update the travel speed at a specific time.

At present, there is no output that returns the present travel time for the conveyor. You can calculate it yourself by recording the time each SimEntity enters the conveyor using its AssignmentsAtStart input to set an attribute for the SimEntity. When a SimEntity exits the conveyor you can use an Assign object to record the entity's actual travel time and hence its average speed.

We will add outputs for PresentTravelTime and TravelSpeed to EntityConveyor in the next release (2026-01).

Harry
