The programme is now finalized. Thank you all for your patience. Please find attached. Two points can be noted:

 

1. The special panel has been confirmed. It will be chaired by Ayesha Kajee and the presenters are as follows:

Ebrahim Mphutlane wa Bofelo,: Power without people and People without Power: An anarcho-Sufi critique of Statism, Economism and Party-ism in South Africa

Maulana Sandile Twala: The current unrest in KZN: Politricks or a painful blessing?

Naadira Munshi: Coming to terms with South Africa's hollowed-out state

 

1. Professor Aslam Fataar has unfortunately needed to pull out because of academic commitments elsewhere. However, Dr Shaheed Tayob, an anthropologist at the University of Stellenbosch, has very graciously agreed to speak in his stead on the topic: " Niyyat (intention/orientation): Ethical Deliberation, Action, Relation"

 

 

Please find the biodata and abstracts of these presenters ( and the chair of the special panel) in the attached document. We would like to especially thank all of them for coming on board at rather late notice. That they all did so very readily and graciously is tremendously appreciated.

 

We'll be sending out the link to the conference later this week.
