Hello,

I am new to JAABA. I tracked my flies in the hope of following courtship behavior, using FlyTracker.
I have successfully installed JAABA. When I open the GUI I receive an error message (see 'error_msg_GUI').
Then, when trying to add the files to the new project I have created, I am receiving additional errors and the program does not respond anymore (see 'error_JAABA').

Could you please help me?

Best wishes

The error is related to the parallel pool in Matlab. Do you have the Parallel Computing Toolbox? If you do, can you test it using parpool from matlab command line? If you get an error, please follow the suggestions that Matlab provides.

Mayank

Oh, you are using the compiled version of JAABA. That is outdated. Please use JAABA from the source in Matlab.

Hi Mayank,

Thank you for your quick reply!

When I am running the 'parpool' everything seems to work fine... no errors. Could it be because the code is trying to run 'matlabpool' instead of 'parpool'?.
I tried to run 'matlabpool' and it says that 'matlabpool' has been removed, and to use 'parpool' instead.

Best
Shani

You need to download JAABA from github repository: https://github.com/kristinbranson/JAABA

Dear Mayank

Thanks again for the reply.
There are plenty of versions in the source in Matlab.
In the first email I was using version JAABA_win64_pkg_v0.4.zip, which is at the top of the download page (green button; see screen shot).
Downloading the latest version (0.6), popped another issue with the compiler, this time with the parpool (see screen shot).

Which version would you recommend to use?

Thanks again
Shani

Should I download the JAABA (0.4.0 or 0.4.2) that is in the compiled folder?; I don't see in any of the packages is an .exe file of JAABA.
Sorry for insisting, I am just a bit confused with the different versions.

Best wishes,
Shani
