Wing features not detected

Hello

First, thank you very much for developing such an amazing tool to track flies and for answering to all the questions. I am truly grateful for the help.

I would like to quantify male courtship behavior. I managed to track the flies using fly tracker and to train JAABA to recognise chasing behavior.

The next step would be to track wing extensions. However, even before the training, when creating a new JAABA file in order to track the wing I am getting the following error:

I tried to use both 'flies_wing' and 'eyrun_files' and both do not work.

I will be happy to get help!

Hi Shani,

The tracker-generated trx file should contain wing features like wing_anglel (angle of the left wing) to use the wing features. Does the tracker that you use generate these? I'm not up to date on which trackers generate what output.

I am encountering a similar issue. Although I'm confident that my files contain 'wing_anglel' and 'wing_angler' data, I'm encountering difficulties in training my project using 'flies_wing.' As a workaround, I'm currently utilizing 'flies' for my project. However, I am interested in training the courtship singing behavior of fruit flies. Would it be more suitable to use 'flies_wing' for this purpose?

This software is excellent, and it's my first time using it. Thank you very much for your assistance and any valuable advice you can offer!

Thank you for the answer.

In the perframe folder there is not wing_angle, but there are other parameters:

I see in the excelfile that was created by Fly tracker that the values of 'wing l ang' and 'wing r ang' exist.

From some reason I can't load the trx file within the video file, so I can't know what other parameters are stored there.

@Lilli: Where  and how did you check you have and wing_anglel' and 'wing_angler'?

Hi Shani,

Opening your trx file in MATLAB allows you to easily examine all the contents of the trx file. Despite having access to these parameters, I encounter the same error as you when selecting 'flies_wing.' Regrettably, I haven't been able to resolve this issue yet, so I've opted to use 'flies' for training my project in the meantime.
